The very first entry of Falcom's epic JRPG saga has been remade to glowing modern standards while faithfully preserving the original story
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is a stellar remake, staying true to the heart of what made the original so special, while adding on elements that just fit perfectly.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is a fantastic example of starting a long-running series off right, with lovable characters and an intricate world tied together with an intriguing political narrative. While it takes a while to get going and is very long-winded, it’s incredibly enjoyable and leaves you wanting more.
This localized release has been an incredible labour of love, but it feels like it was all worthwhile - this is a modern classic in waiting.
Some players will be incredibly put off by the games slow pace, but for those who give it a chance, you’ll find what I believe to be one of the best stories in video games of recent memory. Even if you have to seek it out on PSP, it is most definitely a game worth your time.

Have you traveled across Liberl yet? Well, in case you missed it the first two times, RPGamer is ready to provide yet some more thoughts on XSEED and Falcom's magnum opus.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is the first in what promises to be a strong, entertaining trilogy. Although this first chapter is not the most original ever made, like any good JRPG it offers amusing writing, dynamic combat, interesting tasks, an absorbing narrative, and hours upon hours of gameplay. And while the game's 50/50 balance between combat and story may not be to everyone's taste, its charm and overall entertainment value make it well worth the investment.
