World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

Let me be honest with the MMORPG readers upfront.  Wrath of the Lich King has been released for close to two months and unless you've been living under a rock, chances are you've heard a few things about it.   Let's face it there's no way one review can cover all the elements of this expansion.  Good thing there is ample coverage, guides, and additional reviews covered right here at MMORPG.com.  Well without any further covering of my own short comings or promotion of the website you are...

As for now, Blizzard is more than content to build on World of Warcraft's formula, improving and refining nearly every aspect of the game, delivering new quest systems, a better and more focused narrative, loads of new goals to chase by yourself or with friends, and made acclimating to its world's complexities a process generally free of the headaches of something like CCP's EVE Online. Those who've yet to jump in should absolutely do so; it's hard to imagine anyone being disappointed with such a well-run, polished product that offers so many reward strata and diverse styles of gameplay.

With its spectacular design, dazzling polish and ever-compulsive gameplay, World of Warcraft seems destined to remain the everyman's pick of PvE-focussed MMO for the foreseeable future.

Wrath of the Lich King is nothing short of proof that Blizzard still knows how to keep things fresh and still has the thinking power to serve up the creative, and the crazy. The more ‘ordinary’ Northrend surpasses the great works the team poured into the fantastical Outland zones. It’s still early days though with the Lich King but I’m certain that this is a great step in World of Warcraft’s future, don’t miss out on it.
