Bayonetta 2 is truly a stand out title for the Wii U and goes in a different direction than the typical Nintendo title. Platinum Games was given the freedom to develop the successor they wanted and that liberty paid off. With the inclusion of a polished version of the original...

Still, Skylanders Trap Team's main gameplay is very mediocre. At its best, it's a passable 3D platformer, and at its worst, it's a stiffly controlled and boring mess. The other gameplay aspects, that is, the focused villain challenges and Skystones card game, are fun, but it's not enough to wash...

The original Bayonetta remains the crazy, unique action title from a few years ago. There are newly added controls and some Nintendo related costumes, but the same content is still here in full force. That in turn makes the presentation somewhat dated and there are framerate drops throughout the game....

Even if you never touched a Mega Man Zero or ZX game or don't know who Inti Creates is, you should check out Azure Striker Gunvolt. All you need to know is that it is a great action platformer that introduces awesome new ideas while oozing with style, personality, and...

Overall, SteamWorld Dig is a great addition to the Wii U library. It takes a while to get fully into the meat of the experience, as the digging drags a bit at first. But once I started upgrading, the gameplay grew addictive as I discovered the right ores to sell...

The controls are quite clunky, but due to the slow pace of the game it's never a big problem. At least until I ran into the completely misplaced first person platforming which the game doesn’t need at all. Admittedly these moments are sporadic, but they add unneeded frustration to the...

There’s plenty of fun to be had in this exciting new adventure. The game looks and feels great. The story is solid and fun at the same time. There’s very little not to love if you’re a fan of the series. From fighting your favorite enemies to building a town...

The Letter shows that honest intentions will not always get you a good game. It fails to deliver on almost every level, except for being actually playable. It is a boring, unpolished piece of software that does nothing to thrill the player. There is nothing to be gained or learned,...

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark mostly just delivers a light-hearted turn-based strategy game that keeps you engaged for the story’s 32 missions. What is here makes for a good time, despite its flaws in the presentation and the overall structure. WayForward has done an admirable job making the Transformers...

Overall, the game is very enjoyable. The level-up and equipment aspects flow unusually well with the aim-and-shoot mechanics of so many mobile games. Aside from the manual leveling system, the game is a very likable piece of entertainment. After deciding to give it a shot, I found myself really enjoying...

Are there advantages to playing Shovel Knight on the Wii U? Well, the game looks great on a TV, and the subscreen is relegated to the GamePad, where you can equip Relics on the fly. There’s also, of course, Off-Screen Play (which is a big deal for me). But honestly,...
