Len's Island
Overall, there are tiny flaws here and there. But Len’s Island does a good job at what it’s trying to do. But it suffers from the same plight that most survival crafting games also face. It gets boring and repetitive after some time. After you’ve tried everything, grown a few...
Kabuto Park
My only gripe is that you can only have one terrarium. I wish you could have a number of different ones to showcase specific groups of bugs. Like, maybe you want to have one for just beetles, or another for certain colours. It would’ve been a fun little addition, and...
If you’re looking for a game that blends stylish traversal, combat, and a story that makes you care, Star Overdrive is absolutely worth your time.
Overall, I walked away from Lies of P: Overture feeling incredibly satisfied and even encouraged to attempt another playthrough with our new weapons. The devs improved upon every issue of the main game and offered some gorgeous backdrops to accompany the wanton carnage.
As you can probably tell from all the praise I’ve offered throughout my Date Everything review, I think this game is beyond brilliant. It met my expectations and then some. I honestly cannot recommend it enough, it’s such a wacky, hilarious, entertaining experience, and I think almost everyone would be...
The game also features a weather and traffic system. Sadly I was not able to experience these due to hardware limitations, but it’s convenient that this didn’t limit my experience. The game’s customisable visual settings mean it can cater well to all levels of systems.
It’s not without its flaws. The sped-up typewriter-style voice sounds are awful for me—really obtrusive and overwhelming, especially with auditory processing issues. I had to shut them off right away. And it’s a real shame, because this game screams out for full voice acting from the VLDL crew. Even a...
I appreciate that the game doesn’t try to sanitise its theme. Instead, it nods to the complexities of policing while keeping things within the realm of stylised fiction. You’re not here to rewrite laws; you’re here to ticket cars, stop crime, and slowly peel back a larger conspiracy.
Tempopo
I hope this Tempopo review has given you a good idea of what to expect. It’s definitely a cute game, and the theming is super fun. The soundtrack too is delightful, and there was plenty to enjoy about it. Unfortunately, even though it’s by no means a bad game, the...
Everhood 2
All-in-all, I had a maddeningly fun time with Everhood 2. For however tedious fights with mobs became, the sheer imagination of the visuals and audacity of the ending made it one of the most impactful, if haunting, indie titles I’ve had the pleasure with. Though I can imagine players without...
I’d imagine my disappointment comes through quite obviously in this A Game About Digging a Hole review. I really wanted to love this. As I said, I actively enjoy digging games. I don’t think the grinding would’ve bothered me nearly as much had the developer made different choices regarding the...
Overall, this simple game is generous with its extras and features with potentially more on the way. Suitably satisfying and and entertaining break in-between more intense games. I’ll probably invest in a wrist rest before trying another simulator on PC though…
