A slick sniping title in name, but one that also encourages creativity, delivers action, and demands adaptation, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is one hell of a ride. Although it has a lackluster story and a handful of minor issues, it’s still an immensely enjoyable separatist kill fest set in the gorgeous open-world landscapes of former Soviet Georgia.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is a game that just wasn't ready to be released. I believe there is a near future when you're going to find this one in the bargain bin or on a deep discount in a digital sale, after the numerous bugs have been patched and that multiplayer is added in, and then there will be an opportunity to enjoy a solid experience. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is a modern-day conflict based in Eastern Europe. Players are thrust into the role of a sniper caught between three warring factions, and it all plays out in a realistic and immersive environment.
By the end of my time with Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, I was left very much disappointed. Not because of the poor story and acting, but because of the technical issues that kept the game from being anything more than mediocre. It’s a shame too; it’s a good – if not amazing – looking game, with some really fun mechanics. With either a little bit more time and/or money, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 could have been a sleeper hit. In its current state, it’s simply a sleeper miss.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is a step forward for the series, however its myriad of issues means it fails to break the shackles of its predecessors.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 has to be partially excused for some of its shortcomings, given CI’s inexperience at producing larger scale, bigger budget games. It does have a pleasing core experience that is sadly let down by, more or less, every other facet of the game. Come for the poor load times, the dreadful writing and the painted-on, wooden expressions the game’s cast has, but stay for the sniping. Because the sniping is great.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 tries to accommodate its namesake by offering sniping, sneaking and action into one open world package, but only sniping succeeds at being any fun.
All in all, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is not a perfect game. It’s missions will occupy you for close to 20 hours, and for the completionists out there, even more time, but there are better, more entertaining games out there that will occupy you for just as long, if not longer. The story may not be entertaining enough to hold your attention for that long anyway. The sniping is actually fun, but can grow old since it is the only source of entertainment, and the skill tree and ranking can be intriguing, but are ultimately shallow. In the past, Sniper Ghost Warrior games have come under fire for how linear they can be, and how much hand-holding goes on throughout the games, guiding you through basic levels with enemies to eliminate from point A to point B. But CI games have ditched the linear formula for their next entry into the series, aptly named Sniper Ghost Warrior 3.
