The most shocking thing about MARS is how good it looks. For what was originally a PS2 game, MARS looks incredibly sharp. This could be because of the game’s slick style and the somewhat gratuitous use of motion-blur, but either way it still looks incredibly nice. I’ve always loved the...

I will say that Shinobi Striker certainly looks and sounds like Naruto, as it adapts Masashi Kishimoto’s distinct visual style perfectly. The music and sound effects feel straight out of the anime as well, and the inclusion of both English and Japanese voices is a nice addition.

I was surprised at how meticulously crafted the visuals of Original Sin 2 are, as I often had the camera zoomed out. Upon taking a closer look, I found the environments and character to be remarkably detailed. The gorgeous soundtrack rounds the package out wonderfully, while the expertly-performed voicework can...

While the voice acting is strong overall, I’d like to commend Yuri Lowenthal’s voicework as Spider-Man in specific. Yuri really nails the more emotional moments in the story while perfectly pulling off Spidey’s quip delivery. Though each Spider-Man voice actor has their own merits, Yuri stands with Josh Keaton and...

The music in Dragon Quest games is always a highlight, and Echoes of an Elusive Age is certainly no exception. The orchestral score is beautiful and memorable, and it features the best iteration of the iconic Dragon Quest overture. Almost every single song managed to get stuck in my head...

Kiwami 2’s settings are absolutely gorgeous. Kamurocho and Sotenbori feel distinct and different from one another, despite both being brightly-lit city districts. While characters look fine for the most part, I found some cutscenes to have some awkward facial animations, which made the characters look creepy and over expressive. Strangely,...

MXGP Pro’s greatest highlight is probably its environmental visuals. Every course, whether based in a stadium or a muddy forest, looks impressively realistic. Mud flies all over the place as your bike creates wet imprints in the track, while your racer’s uniform gets stained and muddied with each splash. It’s...

MotoGP 18’s graphics are inconsistent. While everything looks crisp and fine in motion, stopping or crashing reveals the cracks in the graphics. The models are ugly, textures pop-in at random, racers and bikes will awkwardly ragdoll and clip through things, and obstacles are revealed to have no physical properties, meaning...

The major exception to this is the inclusion of other Pixar characters, all of whom are unlocked by completing Crime Waves. From Toy Story’s Woody to Coco’s Miguel, every Pixar film is represented. If anything, including other Pixar characters showed that Lego The Incredibles would have worked better as a...

New Gundam Breaker is visually stunning when it’s not chugging at a consistent 15 fps. There are times when, in combat, the game will freeze for 3-5 seconds straight, whether playing offline or online. While a lot may be happening on-screen, it’s inexcusable to have such ridiculous drops and freezes...

Visually, Moonlighter has a rather stylish retro look that conveys its smooth and whimsical art style quite well. Enemy designs, both the original designs and trope-based ones, are creative, while each boss is impressive to gaze upon. The different dungeons and their themes are fitting of Moonlighter’s RPG inspirations, while...
