Monster Hunter Wilds
9.5

The year 2025 is shaping up to be a remarkable time for RPGs, with hits like Avowed and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Monster Hunter Wilds will likely seal the deal, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it take the top spot in Capcom’s collection.

There are many more topics I could go on about the game, but it’s probably best for you to experience it for yourself. Avowed is one of the best RPGs I’ve played in 2025, and I’m not even much of a role-playing genre fanatic. If that’s convinced you enough, hop into the game on Xbox Game Pass Day One or PC.

Ultimately, ZZZ delights with guiding design principles—remembering what so many adore about other Hoyoverse characters while breaking those moments up into short, snappier pieces. It’s rather easy to pick up and put down, and for something on the go, it’s certainly the preferable Hoyo title. For now, I’m all on board with New Eridu, and eager to watch the cast and world grow in many of the ways Honkai and Genshin have, too.

Whether you are a history nut or an action RPG lover, Rise of the Ronin should be your next choice in a game. You’ll have fun dicing up your enemies while learning about Japan’s rich culture. It’s the perfect combination of the two, and I hope to see more entries like this to dive more into historical content.

My Time at Sandrock
4.5

My Time at Sandrock sets the bar for sequels with its overhaul of entertaining content and drastic improvements from its predecessor. You won't be able to put down this game until you've fully revamped this rustic town using your building expertise.

Payday 3

Although Payday 3 has plenty of content to play the game repeatedly, I don't think it has much value for the long haul with its consistent need for an online connection and a reduced mission list. It could get better with the addition of offline mode and the upcoming missions set for the DLC, but it still needs a lot more substance to be a worthy successor of the franchise.

If you've been missing Danganronpa (like I have) or want to have a fresh new take on the detective narrative, then Rain Code is the right title for you. Every time you think you've got it all figured out, the storyline seems to always go in a completely different direction, with enormous amounts of twists and turns.

Dave the Diver
4.5

The first time I dove into the watery world of Dave the Diver, I was instantly hooked by its whimsical dialogue, vibrant 2D graphics, and addicting gameplay. However, despite the character's 2D design, the landscape takes a different shape through its 3D environment, changing the dynamic of the overall art style.

Planet of Lana
4.5

It's been a while since a platformer captured my attention, but Planet of Lana immediately caught my eye with its picturesque scenery. In a way, it felt like I was controlling a character in an ever-changing painting featuring its own sets of challenges that enticed me to want to play more. The epic adventure also furthers the movie-like feel of the entire narrative, taking you on an enthralling journey from start to finish.

The small but vast world of Grounded provides players with an all-new experience where you are shrunken in size. In this game, everyday objects appear larger, and the once tiny bugs are now frightening creatures that will try to eat you.
