Metroid Prime 4 Beyond is a worthwhile return to form for the first-person Samus Aran titles. Viewros is beautifully designed, the combat is quick and intense, and yes, the Galactic Federation soldiers absolutely add to the story. Ignore the hate posts online and enjoy the ride.

Hyrule Warriors Age Of Imprisonment does a great job of building upon what Age of Calamity did, while also being a true canon story that will make you feel a deeper connection to Rauru, Mineru, Zelda, and the other characters you assist along the way. The level of detail and customization is incredible, and is to be praised, and only certain things hold it back from being as great as its predecessor.

Pokémon Legends Z-A dares to be different in various ways, and it comes together beautifully. Sure, not everything works, but it’s a marked improvement over the many issues that Scarlet/Violet had, and improves upon the “graphical issues” that many felt Arceus had.

Donkey Kong Bananza is nothing short of a revelation and revolution about what DK can be as a character and how his games can be different from Mario’s, Kirby’s, and others of his platforming ilk. He and Pauline are the epic “dynamic duo” that Nintendo can rally around to start the Switch 2 age, and you’ll love this game from start to finish…then go back for even more.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition is a true upgrade worthy of fans who wanted this to be an even grander version of the Wii U title. Planet Mira has never looked better, the game has never been smoother gameplay-wise, and you’ll love going from one part of the planet to the next to see what else awaits you. Add that to the additional story content? And the bigger question is, why haven’t you gotten this game yet?

Mario & Luigi Brothership is a welcome return, and succeeds far more than it fails. Its heartwarming story mixed with solid battle mechanics will keep you engaged for some time…even if it goes a bit long in the tooth near the end.

Super Mario Party Jamboree continues the great trend that the past two Switch titles in the series started, and the new modes help make it stand out from the rest. It’s not perfect, but there are plenty of ways to kill time and have fun with friends or online rivals while you play.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a triumph of both style and storytelling. Princess Zelda feels like a true protagonist and doesn’t simply “take Link’s place” in the adventure. The creativity of the “Echoes” system is wonderfully done for the most part, and most will definitely want a new adventure of this nature in the future.

The Ace Attorney Investigations Collection may not hold up like the rest of the Ace Attorney saga, but there’s enough for long-time fans and newcomers to enjoy.

Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door is everything you wanted it to be on Nintendo Switch and more. Numerous quality-of-life improvements and additions help make the game both more fun and accessible to gamers of all generations.
