Portal 2 is the best Valve release to date, and one of the most refreshing, exciting and innovative games we’ve ever played. There’s no doubt in our minds that numerous Game of the Year awards have now already been shotgunned, and with mighty good reason. If you thought the original Portal was a masterpiece, prepare to have your mind blown.

Crysis 2 ticks all the right boxes, with a lengthy campaign that packs plenty of replay value and multiplayer options that are bound to prove a big hit. If only the suit’s powers were managed a little better, and the AI was up to scratch, we’d be recommending this outright.

While Torchlight’s original faults still stand, the game lends itself wonderfully to the Xbox 360 controller, and we found ourselves preferring the console edition. If you’re looking for a hack ‘n’ slasher to lose a week’s worth of nights to, then sit down - you’ve found it.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is available now for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Dead Rising 2 doesn’t exactly build that much on the original game, but then again many would argue that it didn’t really need to. If you were a big fan of Frank and his zombie-smashing ways, prepare to make good friends with Chuck and his very familiar journey. If, however, you didn’t enjoy the previous action all that much, you’re not going to have a ball here either.

Mafia II is exactly the sequel Mafia fans have been waiting all these years for. It’s a brutal tale of underworld family business and killing without a second thought that will have you hooked all the way. You’d do well to grab yourself a copy. Capeesh?
