Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Six months ago Arkane released their stealth action adventure Dishonored on the world. It enjoyed strong sales and critical acclaim, receiving a score of 85 from our own MRBIGCAT along with multiple “Best Action Game” awards. What better way to follow up that success than by unleashing some story expanding DLC? The Knife of Dunwall tells a tale parallel to that of the original game, but does it match its quality?
“The story of Dishonored expands with a new protagonist, new powers, and more of the solid gameplay that made the game a hit”
A very impressive new slice of Dishonored. With Daud's story left on a cliffhanger, we hope Arkane keeps up this form with the next installment.

The Knife of Dunwall is satisfying to play, but fails to build much momentum in its story. I’m intensely curious to see where Arkane takes Daud's tale from here, as it certainly has the makings of an interesting story. So far, however, it's all set-up and no punchline. Even so, it’s great to be back in Dunwall, immersed in one of the most well-realised worlds in modern gaming.
Nevertheless it’s a story that definitely has me intrigued (which I couldn’t say about Dishonored’s plot, another failing of the main game that Knife of Dunwall seems to be correcting) and anyone hankering for more Dishonored will be utterly satisfied – I certainly hope this is how Bioshock Infinite’s DLC will go. I’ll be first in line for The Brigmore Witches Arkane, but just remember to let me carry my baggage over please.
