A fun and approachable reboot, with the occasional texture pop-in and a fairly short (if memorable and polished) campaign and plenty of extra content.

DmC: Devil May Cry is one of the best hack-and-slash games out there, and now it's even better thanks to a higher frame-rate, fresh difficulty settings, and a slight speed boost. If you didn't get around to slaying demons with Dante back in 2013, now's your chance to do so. As far as return business goes, this one is deserving of a purchase if you simply want an excuse to revisit this adrenaline rush of a game. DmC Definitive Edition's customisation tools that allow the player to tweak gameplay to suit their own style is what makes this an excellent remaster for newcomers and veterans alike.

Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition may not improve much in the looks department but the gameplay remains as great as it was last gen (Vergil's Downfall notwithstanding). If you haven't played it yet then you absolutely should do so.

DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition brings the same great game to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, along with a couple of tweaks to make it feel different for returning veterans. The sharper visuals, smooth 60-fps gameplay, and other features and enhancements gave me plenty of reasons to be happy about coming back, and to recommend that you pick it up for the first time.
