Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
World Brothers 2 provides excellent upgrades to mechanics from the first game to make this one feel even better to play.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 may be a bit basic at times but it offers a fantastic and colorfully chaotic experience of protecting the world from strange enemies with even stranger allies.
Just like the in-game character, I'm a very happy Canadian bear because EARTH DEFENSE FORCE: WORLD BROTHERS 2 is finally here.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is exactly what I want to see from the EDF formula, and it's wonderful on the Steam Deck.
While it's not all that different from its predecessor, Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 proves to be a worthy follow-up, offering more missions and more Brothers to collect, and ultimately just being more fun in general. Whether you're an existing fan of the series or want a fun way to dip your toes into it, World Brothers 2 is easy to recommend.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is a surprisingly polished EDF spin-off that is fun for newcomers and veterans.
Of all Earth Defense Force games, World Brothers is easily its most easily recognizable, with its colorful presentation, voxel-like graphics, and light hearted premise. It’s also, ironically enough, the most polished, and dare I say, fun, of all of the many games in the franchise to have ever been released by D3 Publisher ever since its inception, more than twenty years ago. I like the improvements Yuke’s made to the first game. While they could have phoned in the development of World Brothers 2, I was greeted instead with a completely new story, lots of new brothers, and enough enemy variety to keep me entertained through the end. I was pretty impressed with the end product and think it’s a pretty good addition to the EDF franchise. I also had a really great time playing with my friend and others online, even if my online time was limited.
If you can get past the childish and highly repetitive English dialogue, Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is a great option for players looking to mindlessly blast giant insects, aliens and Kaiju to bits with their friends, either online or with a local buddy.
