Far Cry 4: Valley of The Yetis Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Valley of the Yetis is easily Far Cry 4's most substantial DLC, adding a new large area, mechanics, and even a small amount of story to Ajay Ghale's journey in Kyrat. The easiest way to describe Valley of the Yetis is miniature Far Cry 4. You start from scratch when your helicopter crash lands in a new section of the Himalayan mountains, which means all the progress you made in Far Cry 4 doesn't apply here. To access the DLC, you don't even enter your main game. Valley of the Yetis appears as a new item on the game's main menu.
While Valley of the Yetis fails to provide a truly engaging story or a convincing reason why we should go through the hassle of unlocking our weapons and skills for a second time, its new defensive missions and monsters add some depth to the already excellent core gameplay of Far Cry 4. Despite not having much to do outside of the campaign new defense missions, exploring the Valley of the Yetis is good fun - both as the hunter and as the hunted.
Fantasy enemies clearly work very well with Far Cry, but this abridged version of the main game really should be having more fun with its characters than this.

Still, the Valley of the Yetis campaign is a thrilling experience that almost matches that of the main game. If only all the DLC were this deep. It makes a fantastic finale to an already engrossing game. Even if you have no interest in the season pass, the Valley of the Yetis campaign by itself is well worth checking out.
