Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
One player is trapped in a virtual room with a ticking time bomb they must defuse. The other players are the “Experts” who must give the instructions to defuse the bomb by deciphering the information found in the bomb defusal manual. If you are tired of always playing Cards Against Humanity, Monopoly, and that Gargoyles board game on Laserdisc, then Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes will certainly give you the fix you’re looking for, pending you have friends ready to be committed to the task at hand. If not, Gargoyles is always a good choice. Trust me.
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is the most unique co-op game I've ever played, but it's also a brilliant idea that is well executed, and it suits the Nintendo Switch particularly well.
Unfortunately, for players coming back to the game there’s nothing new to look forward to at the moment, but I’ll keep hoping that a version 2 may be in the works. Modding is available on PC if you’re looking for something a little different, but for Keeping Talking And Nobody Explodes veterans, the console versions don’t offer anything new.
Adam: Agreed. I want to play more. I’d play more right now if I had time. One final thought - I like that the game didn’t make me feel stupid. When I looked at the manual, I felt very stupid but within the context of the timer and all of that tension, mistakes feel natural. I effectively murdered Pip by messing up a module that I’d made notes about and everything, but that felt like something that could have happened to anyone.
