NBA 2K25 radically improves gameplay and presents the most authentic NBA experience to date. It builds on systems introduced in last year’s version to give a more complete package for players to enjoy.

Pay-to-win issues notwithstanding, Visual Concepts' NBA 2K25 is the premier basketball title, packed with enjoyable content and notable improvements.

NBA 2K once again sits in the top tier of sports games for the reasons that matter most, but a pay-to-win scheme continues to infect some of its best aspects.

After a somewhat disappointing outing last year, NBA 2K25 sees the series find its form again with flashy presentation, satisfying new shooting mechanics and a whole host of modes.

If you can get past the frustrating crashing issues and performance drops, there is a great basketball sim with plenty to discover for all kinds of NBA fans.

NBA 2K25 is the best the series has ever been on the court. This is slick and addictive stuff with improved passing and defending, hundreds more animations and a ton of big modes to sink your teeth into. Eras is a standout again, it's great to see the women's game included, and fans of digging deep into stats and shoes, badges and builds will be more than happy. We'd love to slap a higher score on...

As an entire basketball package, there is no denying that NBA 2K25 is something to be savored by fans of the sport. With its great selection of game modes and the various improvements made in all areas, this makes it more of an obvious choice compared to last year's offering, and when Visual Concepts and 2K Games finally cut the cord with the previous generation, there will surely be even more ama...

While it’s a fantastic game once you actually reach the court, NBA 2K25 is going to full court press every player into starting MyCAREER and spending as much money as possible. There’s still an amazing basketball game in here if you can get to franchise mode or the thankfully overlooked WNBA career mode, but 2K is never going to stop pestering you to give them more money.

The life of a sports game reviewer can be a miserable one, but while much of Visual Concepts’ culturally colossal NBA 2K series is recycled year-on-year, it rarely settles for raw iteration. This is a developer that, for all its faults, genuinely appears committed to creating the best sports sim on the market – and it tends to lap its competitors through sheer budget alone.

NBA 2K 25 introduces much-needed gameplay and presentation improvements, but unresolved issues from other titles still rear their ugly head and hold the series back from reaching the highs we all look back on fondly.

I figured I would wait until the end to say this; I’m not even that much of a basketball fan, but I couldn’t stop thinking about NBA 2K25. I wanted to play more of it in any free moment that I could, and it’s genuinely sparked an interest in the sport that I’ve never truly had before. It’s a great step forward for the franchise, and I hope to continue seeing the bar of quality pushed higher with e...
