Quite a disappointment, with only glimmers of fun to have peeking through the bike exhaust.
Neptunia Riders VS Dogoos has fun ideas and is enjoyable for its brief running time but the lack of challenge and additional modes makes this entry tough to swallow even for longtime fans.
This dimension is different from Gamindustri…A vast number of distinct Dogoos are appearing and threatening to cover the land. To escape from this otherworldly realm, a lone rider surveys the mysterious world in search of an exit. Switch version reviewed. Review copy provided by company for testing purposes.
I think if you’re a fan of the Hyperdimension Neptunia series and just want to see more of the characters and play an easy action game without using much brain power, this may satisfy that itch. But for those looking for more out of the titles they choose to spend $40 on, this three-hour escapade may not be for you.
Neptunia Riders VS Dogoos is a complete miss. It feels like a glorified DLC pack for a previous game that never approaches anything deserving of its own release. The story and presentation feel like the first draft of what could have been special, and the driving itself is lackluster and boring.
We’re back at it with yet another Hyperdimension Neptunia spinoff, and guess what, this is not going to be that one time when a broken clock was displaying the right time for once (as in, the one time they dropped an actually great Neptunia-themed Space Harrier clone).
