Raidou Remastered offers a well-paced narrative with intriguing detective elements, a cast of charming characters with equally great voice actors behind them, robust features and quality of life improvements, and a combat system with the Shin Megami Tensei aspects that fans know and love. This is a nearly perfect remaster that sets the standard for RPG remasters due to its breadth of features and quality of life improvements over its original game.

With so many developers pushing barely-changed ports on us and calling them remasters — or worse, remasters that actually ruin the game —we need more to follow ATLUS’ example with RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army. Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army serves as a faithful, yet significantly refined take on its source material. It stays close to its PS2 roots visually, while adding much-needed quality of life improvements like a fresh UI and enhanced 3D environments. Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a wonderful retread of a forgotten classic, smartly polishing up its best parts and modifying its worst parts to make for an overall more enjoyable experience. Though the visuals are just 'okay' and the detective gameplay can be a bit plain, the action-packed combat, reworked demon fusion, and interesting story all come together to make for a gripping adventure. Featuring a revamped combat system, full voice acting, and more, Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army almost feels like a new game, and its mix of investigation, combat and demon-collecting is both engaging and rewarding.
