It may not be a radically new Resident Evil 5, but the PC version of the game still manages to hold its own with an improved control scheme and extra Mercenaries mode. Without a doubt the biggest question mark above Resident Evil 5, both historically and today, is whether the co-op partner inclusion was worth it. If you’re playing by yourself, definitely not. But If you’ve got someone to play it through with, you’ve got one of the most well-crafted co-op experiences of the last generation available on a new generation of consoles. Grab someone to play it with, we really recommend it.

Resident Evil HD is a remake done right. Rather than bend over backwards to please a new generation of gamers, it proudly sticks by its roots and is better because of it. Those looking to try something "new" should look to the past with this spot-on remaster.

Resident Evil 5 heads in a different direction but remains a great entry to the series. If you aren't a die-hard fan of the franchise and want it to stay true to its roots, Resident Evil 5 is a fun action game to play with a friend.
