Shadow of the Ninja Reborn

A beloved classic from the SNES era makes a triumphant return, complete with updated visuals and gameplay tweaks that make it even more enjoyable than it was decades ago. Natsume’s 1990 action game classic Shadow of the Ninja is now back with a lovingly crafted remake under the fitting title of Shadow of the Ninja – Reborn. While it never was quite as beloved as Ninja Gaiden, its two-player co-op helped it find plenty of fans back in the day. Now, over 30 years later, it’s able to reach a more modern audience with a lovingly crafted remake.

The visuals of Shadow of the Ninja – Reborn are one of its finest attributes, as the pixel art is both detailed and extremely expressive. Every enemy has tons of character, and the environments are stunning. The ninja-cyberpunk mix that permeates many of the game’s stages is extremely cool to look at and immediately creates an appealing world that’s unlike those of many other games in the genre.

Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn has done a great job of updating the original game while paying homage to it by keeping the multiplayer option, be prepared for a challenge!

I would be lying if I told I had grown up playing the original Shadow of the Ninja, or if I had ever played it in the past.
