The best Sniper Ghost Warrior title to date, the third instalment in CI Games popular sharpshooter series gets enough right to finally elevate the series into the orbit of its peers.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is a game that just wasn't ready to be released. I believe there is a near future when you're going to find this one in the bargain bin or on a deep discount in a digital sale, after the numerous bugs have been patched and that multiplayer is added in, and then there will be an opportunity to enjoy a solid experience. This is not a AAA FPS but it does deliver some good mome...

Overall, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 has some awesome features for customizing and building up your weapons, a wide open world where going about the mission is up to you, and a fun drone to pilot around, but the bland story, bugs and glitches, and lazy design choices make this game nothing special.

By the end of my time with Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, I was left very much disappointed. Not because of the poor story and acting, but because of the technical issues that kept the game from being anything more than mediocre. It’s a shame too; it’s a good – if not amazing – looking game, with some really fun mechanics. With either a little bit more time and/or money, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 could ha...

Long load screens and a very cookie cutter narrative hold SGW3 back from greatness, but there's no denying that this installment in the shooter franchise has brought the series forward quite a few steps. The game provides plenty of carrots for players to chase with weapon, health, and skill unlocks, upgrades, and customizations and gamers who are willing to overlook a few flaws will find a challen...

The relatively unique Georgian setting and the brewing civil war are all but set aside for a by the numbers story of revenge and betrayal, while Jon isn’t a very likeable protagonist. The various bugs and crashes also need to be addressed in future patches, as they can ruin the experience. Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 has the sniping down to a tee, which should be expected with the number of years CI ha...

The third part of Sniper: Ghost Warrior was supposed to finally bring some AAA quality to this series. Unfortunately, there were also elements from the early access program smuggled in somewhere nearby.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 tries to accommodate its namesake by offering sniping, sneaking and action into one open world package, but only sniping succeeds at being any fun.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 has a decent foundation for a good game, but its many technical issues bring the experience down significantly.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior on PS3 is even more disappointing than its sister releases last year. The feeling of missed potential and lack of polish is sharper given the additional year of development time. It looks and runs worse, and fails to address the hyper-linear level design that doomed the original release to the bargain bin. It’s the rare example of a definitive version that only brings into sh...

The open world environment and role-playing elements are trying to elevate the game above its rickety predecessors, but on both a technical and design level this sequel is way off target.

This sort of mechanical strangeness can be acceptable in a game that is fun or ambitious - Red Dead Redemption has more than its fair share of outrageous physics catastrophes, after all - but too many of the problems here impact directly and negatively on the gameplay.
