Sudden Strike 4 Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Sudden Strike 4 is a great example of a challenging real time strategy game without all of the ‘dirt farming’ aspects of other titles. It requires real thought instead of simply pouring all units into the path of the enemy. There are a few hiccups in terms of pathing and AI, as well as a baffling choice for voicework, but the game has more high points than low. It would also be nice if there was just a little more handholding to bring in new players, but overall Sudden Strike 4 is a welcome addition to the genre.
Sudden Strike is back, complete with bigger battlefields, more units, better graphics, new scenarios and legendary commanders with individual abilities.
With the variety in levels, the large number of missions, and the historical depth, I really enjoyed what Sudden Strike 4 had to offer. I think it’s going to appeal to only the smallest of communities on PlayStation 4, and the PC version is clearly going to be the superior choice for people that can manage it, but still, it’s a good little game.
Numbers, and the use of them, should always follow simple rules. Indeed, nature and all of life itself follow mathematical patterns in one way or another. You would think, then, that video games that run on computers, basically giant number machines, would follow simple numerical rules. At least you would imagine the game would tell you what you need to know. Sudden Strike 4 is here to completely blow that logical assumption out of the water.
