A great on-field baseball sim with solid online play.

I might have been the only one living under a rock when the critically acclaimed original came out back in 2014, and while I missed out on it, I wasn’t about to miss the opportunity to get my hands on Super Mega Baseball 2. After all, what’s more fun than a low key baseball sim that brings back some sweet Wii Sports memories, minus the exercise?

It’s been a long damn time since I dared venture outside of the baseball bubble otherwise known as MLB The Show. I mean, why would you ever want to? It’s the gaming comfort food that never disappoints, no matter how many times you step up to the plate. Plus, when the only other annual option is the disaster-bacle known as R.B.I. Baseball, it is fairly easy to understand why. So imagine my shock to...

Fans of the original Super Mega Baseball will find lots to like about this sequel. New players can expect a solid game of baseball with enough arcade magic to appeal to almost any type of player. Baseball purists will find a good time if they enter with the proper expectations. As it stands right now, Super Mega Baseball 2 is now the top dog of baseball games on the PC. For $30, it’s not quite pri...

I was very pleased with the simplistic, fun-to-play nature of Super Mega Baseball 2. The game plays very well with only a few shortcomings and does so for a small amount of bucks. You will not see Mike Trout hitting a home run, but you can have Tony Stark stealing home.

My first baseman is named Grunt Manly. Most of my pitchers itch their butts before throwing the ball. My team, the Herbisaurs, is taking on the Sirloins. Super Mega Baseball 2 doesn’t take itself too seriously, but that doesn’t mean you’ll see moonshot home runs or pitches corkscrewing comically to the plate. Despite the goofy setup, developer Metalhead Software delivers a surprisingly authentic b...

Super Mega Baseball 2 is a grounded baseball simulation wrapped in an arcade-style look and feel. An accurate physics engine generates realistic hits, and it keeps stats and models fatigue and morale in interesting ways. This realism is betrayed by a few control issues that affect the timing when batting and an AI that doesn’t always behave as you’d expect. However, the unique Ego system allows yo...

When it comes to sports games, arcade baseball always provides good times no matter if you're a fan of the sport or not. Super Mega Baseball 2 is a substantial step up from its predecessor but does it knock it out of the park?

Super Mega Baseball 2 brings a great amount of arcade fun to this historical sport. With great mechanics and pick up and play gameplay, the game keeps you entertained and engaged. Since there it is not an MLB game you can’t use real players or teams, but that doesn't stop the game from holding up as a respectable title.

You’ve got to give Super Mega Baseball 2 a lot of credit: it manages to find a home on the PlayStation 4 where so many others fail. Stepping up to bat against Sony’s own MLB The Show must be an intimidating prospect, but this likeable arcade outing swings for the fences – and ultimately loads its bases. If you like your sports games to be accessible, then there’s a lot of customisability here to a...

The big heads and monster home runs pretty much tell you everything you really need to know about Super Mega Baseball 2. Metalhead’s Software is back with their charming arcade baseball game, this time with more polish and even bigger heads. Under the veneer of a silly over-the-top arcade game, though, lies hidden a deep and enjoyable baseball game that’s easy to play and customizable in ways you ...
