The Jackbox Party Pack 6 Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Jackbox rarely disappoints and The Jackbox Party Pack 6 proves that the series is just as entertaining as it ever was. The return of Trivia Murder Party is welcome, and the four new games all bring something unique to the table. If you’ve ever enjoyed a Jackbox title before, you’ll absolutely want to pick this one up.
Most of these titles in the sixth pack were good but a bit short of great. Somehow, Push the Button made up for the rest of the package's shortcomings. If you've already invested in these party packs in the past, there is no reason to skip out on this one. In fact, it's all the more reason to buy it. With The Jackbox Party Pack 6, it has never been easier to say "Did you like that one game _______ from the other party pack? Then you'll like this one too."
The time has come. The bloodpact has been renewed. Our sacred power tablets are charged, ready for our input. We gather to offer our creative energies unto the Jackbox, in the hopes good things stem from the ritual. Which is to say that right on time, Jackbox Games has provided a new entry in The Jackbox Party Pack series in time for various festive events. The Jackbox Party Pack 6 isn’t as legendary as, say, the original installment or third entry, but it is better than some of the recent efforts that didn’t compare to earlier works and has more games that are a better fit for the varied audi...
The Jackbox Party Pack 6 continues Jackbox’s streak of funny, low-key party games without deviating much from their established formula. If you’re looking for something fun to do with a group for a couple of hours, you can’t go wrong with one of the Jackbox Party Packs. There aren’t really any experimental games like Zeeple Dome from last year’s collection, but there’s plenty worth playing in this year’s Pack.
Between Push the Button, Joke Boat, Trivia Murder Party 2, and Role Models, The Jackbox Party Pack 6 is quite possibly the most well-rounded collection of mini-games that we've seen in a Jackbox Party Pack game. Dictionarium is really the only weak one, and even then it can still be fun with the right friends. So like always, The Jackbox Party Pack 6 is a safe bet for anyone looking for a fun party game to entertain friends or family, and may be an especially smart buy with the holidays coming up.
The Jackbox Party Pack 6 comes in with some great games, and a few really forgettable ones. Push the Button does well as a complete departure from the traditional Jackbox Style and Trivia Murder Party 2 and Role Models are a great laugh for a party.
Like most Jackbox Party Packs, Jackbox Party Pack 6 has a couple of fantastic games, and a couple that don’t quite hit the mark. Push the Button and Trivia Murder Party 2 are games that I will be pulling out at parties for many moons to come. On the other hand, Dictionarium is slow-moving and will likely bring your party to a crashing halt and Joke Boat is awkward and rarely works the way that it should. Thankfully, the better titles alone are enough to warrant Jackbox Party Pack 6 being a worthwhile game to play with friends, but don’t expect it to be impressive on every front.
I've been reviewing the annual Jackbox Party Packs ever since it debuted back in 2014 so let's see how this latest collection holds up.
Ultimately, Jackbox Party Pack 6 feels like a letdown. It’s missing both You Don’t Know Jack and a game where you have the chance to draw, and those two experiences are ones that my group of friends has always very much looked forward to. If you loved Trivia Murder Party or aspire to have your own stand-up routine, Jackbox 6 might be worth your time, but you’re probably better off looking into one of the earlier collections that seem to be regularly going on sale.
An uneven selection of party titles which, while polished, doesn’t have a killer game in its bundle to make it a must-have purchase.
If your model doesn’t break, don’t fix it. That’s the Jackbox logic here, and the sixth chapter in its party series pays off as a result. It’s not a perfect compilation, but Jackbox Party Pack 6 has fun in spades to offer for the right group or streamer. Now get out there and work on your verbiage.
