TOEM 2 is a lovely game and a wonderful way to while away an afternoon as the beautiful visuals, hypnotic soundtrack and fun puzzles melt you into your sofa.
TOEM 2 is a great follow up that mostly improves on what its predecessor introduced, and it's perfect to play on the Steam Deck.
The original TOEM: A Photo Adventure from developer Something We Made is one of my favourite puzzle titles in recent memory.
Toem 2 is a stellar game. You can clear it in a weekend, and you'll come out the other end feeling great about your time.
Something We Made's Toem 2 is a fantastic sequel that takes everything that made its predecessor great, and expands it.
Toem 2 is another delightful photographic journey that tells us all to slow down as well as explores the power of community.
My experience with TOEM 2 was the same as with TOEM. That means this sequel is a wonderful game that kept me smiling for the almost five hours it took me to get 100%. Yes, it's a short and simple game, but supremely fun and relaxing. The graphics are adorable, the melodies are beautiful, and the characters are memorable. Its main flaw is that it ends too soon, but that's not a problem when you consider the first game.
Now in 2026 Toem 2 is here to take us on another black and white photographic holiday, but does it expand meaningfully on the original game’s uniqueness, or is it nothing but a photo bomb?
Toem 2 is a wonderful little game to explore. It feels like a vacation from the real world with fun gameplay, cute characters and delightful music and sound design. There’s a lot to discover in the world, with plenty of critters to find, tasks to complete and endless silly things to take photos of, so even after completing your journey to the Whirling Birch Bloom, there are still plenty of reasons to come back and add some new photos to your album.
The novelty has worn off a smidge, but this sequel is still great on its own terms.
Exploring this whimsical world is impossible to resist
Review: A fantastic sequel that perhaps plays its a little safe, there's so much to love about TOEM 2, even if you did expect more change.
Five years after the original, Toem 2 arrives with a few new tricks and the same charming atmosphere that fans desire.
The new adventure preserves the welcoming spirit of the original, while expanding the world with new tools and possibilities for interaction.
TOEM 2 is once again a portrait of a game. How does it manage that? Read the review now.
Sequels tend to get lost in the weeds of expanding scope, but Something We Made set out to simply improve and build upon what made the original TOEM pretty engaging. TOEM 2 is not groundbreaking. You may only notice the improvements when putting it side-by-side with the original. That is not a bad thing for fans and for those looking for a short and cozy experience you get exactly what you expect.
This photo-based adventure is super sweet but a little too easy to capture the glee of solving adventure game puzzles.
The sequel to indie favourite Toem is not much of a departure from the original but it is the perfect antidote to other more bombastic video games.
