If you're looking to escape reality, WarioWare: Get It Together is wacky, frenetic fun. But the novelty may wear off after several hours.

WarioWare: Get It Together, despite its rather short campaign, features over 200 incredibly funny, absurd, and downright creative microgames for players to complete. You’ll find yourself laughing your way through the experience, fighting with your friends over who failed a game, and savoring your triumphs over the late game’s harder challenges. The addition of the Emporium, Break Room, Missions, Play-O-Pedia, and Wario Cup are nice and will keep the game fresh for many players well after they complete the story, but a few players may not enjoy the grind to unlock all the Prezzies available. As it stands, WarioWare: Get...

WarioWare: Get it Together! is a very fun game from the moment you pick it up. It has a generous selection of over 200 micro games to sink your time into. Pair that with the various playstyles of the characters, and you have yourself a lot more than just a one and done game.

As much as it’s great to see video games become big, expansive experiences that last 50+ hours, it’s always nice to return to a delightfully simple game like WarioWare. It’s a series that specialises in microgames – games so short that they can’t even be called minigames. This is its own form of comedy, as the player only has a matter of seconds to figure out what they’re looking at, let alone how to win the microgame. Wario is the perfect face for this silly type of setup, turnin...

This might seem like a weird place to start the review off, but did you know that I am in absolute love with Rhythm Heaven? The pacing of the mini-games and the art style blend beautifully to make a very fast-paced and cute-looking game series that is easy to pick up and fun to play. So, because of that, you'd expect that I would be head over heels about the WarioWare series. Unfortunately, that is not the case. First things first, though.

WarioWare: Get It Together is probably one of the best and most frantic multiplayer games on the Nintendo Switch.

WarioWare: Get It Together is a fun romp if you have friends, but it'll feel like a passing fancy if you don't. The best thing to say about it is that it goes back to the basics of what makes WarioWare work. It's all about simple microgames that go a mile a minute, no silly hardware gimmicks required. Instead, the gimmicks are left to the characters, which is a much stronger approach. Unfortunately, because there are so many characters in the WarioWare mythos, having to design mechanics for each of them and then having to put forward microgames that are...

Wario goes back to his roots with a great character platforming-inspired take on the microgames concept.

I’ve mentioned in the past that I’m a big WarioWare fan. Whenever Nintendo announces a brand new system with a hardware gimmick, I immediately start to think how the WarioWare franchise will be able to take advantage of it in order to create something even wackier and more creative than its predecessor. I loved the announcement of a brand new WarioWare for the Switch during the last Nintendo Direct, as I hoped the game would be able to deliver where 1-2-Switch had failed. I had hoped it w...

I've been a huge fan of WarioWare ever since its Game Boy Advance debut back in 2003 and there's now a cool new one for Switch.

The art and sound are delightful, as should be expected from a WarioWare game. Everything looks colorful and weird, which is admittedly a good way to describe WarioWare in general. The art is clean, sharp, and gives the variety of wacky characters some additional flavor. The music for each stage and microgame is full of character, which illustrates the comedic tone of the overall game rather well.

I’m grateful that another Wario game even exists, and WarioWare: Get It Together! is going to be a hit for a lot of people who are already dedicated to this special brand of weird. But for some, the homogenization of a few aspects might not last them more than a week, so make sure you bring people into the fold if you want to jump in at full asking price.

Nintendo spent last year hyping up a certain plumber as part of Super Mario Bros.‘ 35th anniversary, so it’s only fair that his villainous rival got a bit of love in 2021. And waaaat better way than with a brand new WarioWare game for the Switch?

WarioWare: Get It Together! is exactly what you'd expect from a WarioWare game, for better or for worse. I did hope for a little bit more from this Switch title; WarioWare: Gold for the 3DS seemed to have better value with 100 more microgames, full voice acting, and a lower price tag. The Switch game just feels like it's missing something. However, WarioWare: Get It Together! is simply fun. It's an entertaining game to play in short bursts when you have some downtime or when you're in the mood for something a little zanier.

In an era full of 100+ hour open-world campaigns and games as service titles that can be played in perpetuity, WarioWare's 3-to-5-second microgames almost feel like a commentary on the state of the industry. On the one hand, Get It Together's microgames require split-second thinking, continually offer the unexpected, and feel refreshingly original. On the other hand, this ultimately shallow experience left me wanting more.

WarioWare: Get It Together! gets back to basics. It throws out the controller gimmicks of old, but brings in the added layer of quirky character abilities that brilliantly manage to work with every single one of the moreish microgame mayhem that this series is so well known for. Oh, and it makes for a great party game too!

The least interesting WarioWare entry so far, with overcomplicated multiplayer characters and microgames that seem to have lost their sense of manic invention.
