Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is the best version of a great game. It’s got great characters with a lot of depth (except for Itsuki), varied visual themes, wonderful music, and an addictive battle system. Its debut didn’t get the attention it deserved, but maybe this encore will shine a spotlight on one of the best RPGs in recent memory.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore's incredibly colorful style brightens up your day. The addicting JRPG gameplay keeps you occupied for hours, and the soundtrack will remain stuck in your head for months to come.
Not only does this re-release of an underappreciated Wii U JRPG represent the best possible version of the game, it’s also now on a platform that suits it perfectly
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore may not offer too much of an upgrade for those that dove deep into the Wii U version but everyone else will find an entertaining story featuring a great combat system and excellent soundtrack.
Back in 2016 the Wii U was waning more than ever, with only a few Nintendo published titles on the horizon and plenty of murmurs of something called the NX.

Still though, going with a Japanese Idol theme was a deci...
Any Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, or JRPG fan shouldn't hesitate to pick up Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore. It's fantastic to see another lost gem from the Wii U shine brightly on the Nintendo Switch.
While Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore may not have quite as much Fire Emblem influence as some fans may want, the two series go very well together with a unique premise and Mirage system that is overlaid upon a pretty traditional turn-based system at its core that will satisfy both fan bases.
Slay strategically in deep, stylish RPG battles as the worlds of the Fire Emblem series and Atlus games have crossed paths again and the result is coming with Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore.
A former Wii U title makes the jump onto the Nintendo Switch. Is it worth revisiting, or even visiting for the first time?
TMS #FE Encore is a solid enough RPG that doesn't play to its strengths and ultimately falls short of greatness.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore features some much-needed quality of life improvements, as well as a strong opening and novel combat. But, ultimately, tedious dungeon design and unrefined boss battles that plagued the original remain and prevent Encore from being the improvement it could be.
