Bungie has emphasized that the universe of Destiny will be "alive". Events may happen in-game that are not necessarily controlled or planned by the developer, which will help to create a dynamic developing experience for Bungie and a dynamic playing experience for gamers. The game's style has been described a first-person shooter that will incorpor...

Destiny Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
If you're looking for a solid shooter wth both single, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay - we would highly recommend you check it out!
Check out my review on Destiny so far! It isn't like most games you've played.
Destiny tries to adhere to many types of players and attempts to justify the time and effort it takes to unlock them. It excels with the basics, such as control and entertainment, but monotonous missions, that repeat continuously on each planet, dilute the experience. Destiny isn't about having a deep and invigorating experience. Instead, it’s about collecting loot and hunting exotic enemies from distant planets with friends.
Destiny’s faux-MMO approach to shooters is a shallow, dull experience that even hardcore fans may find difficult to stick with except to gaze at its worlds or engage in the entertaining competitive multiplayer.
Flawed, yes. Fun? Certainly. A total failure? Not really.
The hype around Destiny was always going to be toughest enemy to master. We take a look at how the game lives up to hype, but it might still be too hard to tell, right chief?
The game is very fun to play, and there is a lot to do after the you beat it. The main story is not as good as other Bungie games, but the lore itself can have some gamers hooked. The gameplay and soundtrack make the game what it is – unique. Bungie has succeeded again, and the game suffers virtually no problems. The issue with Destiny is that its not a bad game, but its also not a good game. Unlike Watchdogs it barely squeezes pass the dreaded 7/10 score because Destiny is legitimately fun. Just like in Halo Reach, this game feels like Bungie could have done much more. Destiny is fun and tota...
You are brought back from the dead in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. This could be the plot for any number of science fiction movies or novels but it’s the start to Bungie’s highly anticipated new intellectual property Destiny. Your Ghost, voiced by actor Peter Dinklage of Death at a Funeral and Underdog fame, prods you back to life and informs you that he needs your help.
Destiny is the type of game where there's a lot to enjoy if you make the most of it. Putting in an effort to coordinate with others to tackle certain bounties or challenges is just plain fun, and the story and other stuff isn't required for that sort of cooperative experience. That's where Destiny is at its best and where it can build from in expansions and sequels. As the launching pad for a new franchise however, Destiny ultimately feels incomplete, yet it's still a game we can easily recommend for shooter fans. At the time of this writing I've put in 59 hours and 49 minutes into Destiny (my...
Destiny is far from a perfect game, with flaws quite clearly apparent in the storytelling and the repetitive formula, but it’s also a game that can quite easily keep you coming back for more time and again, especially if you play with friends. It’s a shame that some of the ideas in the Vault of Glass Raid couldn’t trickle down into the earlier stages, for more variety and intellectual challenge, but it does at least point to an exciting future for the game.
Destiny feels like the key elements of an FPS and an MMO gently resting shoulder to shoulder, instead of being fused together in a truly creative way. It plays and looks great, and offers many, many hours of entertainment to anyone okay with repeating the same tasks, but it isn’t exactly the game-changing science fiction epic we felt it was aspiring to. Fortunately, that doesn’t diminish the fact that there’s a fantastic social experience here, one that we hope will only improve further with future events and DLC. In our opinion, Destiny is at its absolute best when the odds stacked against yo...
