Hades
Verdict: Rogue Lites and Rogue Likes can be hit or miss. There’s a thin line to walk. You’re either going to have a game that’s too hard, and people give up on, or one that’s too easy and doesn’t have enough original stuff to keep people coming back. Hades absolutely...
PGA Tour 2K21
It’s hard to pin down what exactly makes this game far short of blowing me away, other than it doesn’t offer a whole lot that hasn’t been seen before. 2K Sports does everything it needed to do with PGA Tour 2K21 but it doesn’t really go above and beyond.
Liberated
Verdict: Liberated isn’t going to set the world on fire but it’s also not a bad game. There’s quite a bit to like. Not the least of which is that there are several different genres mashed in together to offer you a wide variety of game play options. The problem...
Bleeding Edge
Verdict: As is the case with most wannabe Overwatch games, Bleeding Edge isn’t terrible. It simply doesn’t offer anything that would pull anyone away from the original. The lack of heroes to choose from – and the extreme overpowerfication of some of those heroes – as well as a lack...
Verdict: Saints Row The Third Remastered is sadly an outdated mess of mayhem that while fun in short bursts, isn’t great over the long haul. Add in the fact that there are still weird bugs that kept me from finishing more than one mission, despite having done everything I was...
Gears 5
Verdict: Gears 5 hooks you by making you actually care about the characters it shows you. It keeps you by showing you the stuff you loved about your favorite previous Gears of War game. That combo is enough to maybe attain the title of best Xbox One console exclusive title...
Republique first surfaced as an iOS game and the mechanics involved in this new PS4 version seem like the developer did a straight port, rather than take the time to sharpen anything other than the graphics.
Rocket League made a lot of waves when it was first released on the PS4. Considering this Xbox One version has some add-ons packed in, it is, at the very least just as good if not just a touch better.
The game doesn’t quite live up to other similar games in the genre, but it’s worth the time and energy to check out if you’re a fan of these type of games.
The story is excellent, characters are intriguing, and the game looks better than I’m used to seeing from Telltale Games.
Dark Souls 2on the PS4 is as close to perfect as any game I’ve played this year. The game is beautiful and the mechanics are easy. The only thing that ever got to me was when I’d end up wandering around, trying to find the way to move forward. But...
Although still fun, there is no denying that this is still largely a carbon copy of the original.
