Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is fun if you’re not expecting a Hollywood movie adventure. The theatrics are there, but they’re not the main highlight. Instead, the game focuses more on exploring who Indiana Jones is, his background as an archaeologist, and his moral compass guiding him to assist others. The few stumbles that do happen don’t diminish the larger story, and I only wish it were longer to keep exploring more locations with Indy as a guide.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is an action-filled game that is fluid, crisp, and exciting. The missions are well-written and enjoyable, and the dialogue between companions is delightful. There’s a lot to like about The Veilguard, but there are a few bumps in the road. For older Dragon Age fans, it might feel odd to be planted in this mostly dungeon-based mission corridor, but the experience is never bad or feels like a grind and is mostly Bioware playing it safe.

I had high hopes for Frank Stone, but Supermassive has written scarier, better narrative-focused horror games. Creating a unique story-driven game set in the Dead by Daylight universe is a great idea, but Frank Stone doesn't focus enough on the elements that make Dead by Daylight unique.

If you haven’t had the chance to play Age of Mythology before, or you’re a fan who’s played the original for hundreds of hours, Age of Mythology: Retold offers the perfect opportunity to jump into the game.

Even though it’s been 13 years since Alan Wake, Remedy Entertainment returns to Bright Falls with a powerful force. The story is fantastic, the characters are phenomenal, and the story is frightening, comical, creepy, heartwarming, and often tragic; I couldn’t put it down and found it difficult to stop playing. The macabre nature of Alan Wake 2 is phenomenal, and I loved every second.

I still cannot wait to fire up my second character. I will return to Baldur’s Gate 3 with my Dragonborn Paladin under the Oath of Vengeance. There are still all the stories I want to experience with other custom characters, try out the Dark Urge, or even play the game as Karlach, the best tiefling ever.

The game never overstays its welcome, and there’s plenty to do after the credits roll to keep any combat-hungry or collector junkie sticking around with Cal and BD-1 for several hours. It strikes the right balance of gameplay and time commitment that respects its audience, never demanding more. It was a pleasure to spend time with Cal and the Mantis crew again in a galaxy far, far away.

The gripping story of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will resonate with many players, with an emotional conclusion that will make this game a memorable experience and standard for JRPG narratives moving forward. Combine this with a lovely, albeit crowded, combat system, and this Xenoblade stands above the rest in the series quickly as the best among them.

The Messenger leans on classic platformers from the 80s and 90s, but comes with plenty of its own tricks to make it feel like a wonderful twist with plenty of tongue-in-cheek humor.
