Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Reviews

Professional reviews from gaming critics

Whilst it fails to be the Assassin's Creed 3 some were expecting, Brotherhood refines the single player formula to near perfection and also adds a clever and deep multiplayer experience

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood picks up moments after the end of Assassin's Creed II. Remember that ending? Bizarre artifacts, weird mystical people and strange prophecies. Brotherhood begins as Ezio leaves the Colosseum with the Apple Of Eden — a bizarre, powerful relic — in hand. If Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is your first title in the franchise, it might be worth brushing up on some of the game's fiction. The franchise's overarching narrative is a swooping, convoluted and often ridiculous tale detailing an on-going battle between two factions known as the Assassins and Templars.

Even with the problems that the game had, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood is an awesome time. Whether you are in it for the story, the many things to explore in Rome, or the fantastic freshman multiplayer offering, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood is not going to disappoint you.

Brotherhood is a great game, but it’s hard to wholeheartedly recommend. This is really a title designed for fans of Assassin’s Creed II, as it’s a continuation of that story, but the reality is that people who finished that game want something new – or that at least represents a clear step forward. That said, Brotherhood really looks the part, with a step up in the graphics department – parti...

Not every mission is a success, but charismatic characters and a great final stretch elevate this enjoyable add-on.

Thing is, while this is all well and good, we do have to wonder what took Ubisoft so long to port it over. Four months later, and the buzz surrounding the game has died down, with console owners instead waiting for the next instalment to continue the tale. The free DLC nearly makes up for it, but PC gamers will still feel a little let down. If you’ve still not got around to giving it a play, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is a masterpiece that deserves your time - and with all the added ex...

-  You now have two different types of enemy other than the empire soldiers. One is the pope’s underground wolf army and another is a new type of thieves. It’s so much fun killing the wolves, because they come like 20 in number at the same time and I kill them without losing a single block of health.
