Captain America: Super Soldier Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
SEGA's clearly spent a lot of time playing Batman: Arkham Asylum. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. Given the quality of SEGA's most recent Marvel movie tie-ins, Captain America: Super Soldier feels like a triumph. In borrowing many of conventions popularised by Rocksteady's surprise blockbuster, SEGA has crafted an enjoyable third-person adventure game that achieved something we never expected it to do: make us care about Captain America.
In Captain America: Super Soldier players become Captain America as he faces the Red Skull and his army in an epic third-person action adventure set in the darkest days of World War II.
Captain America: Super Solider for the Nintendo DS is a fast paced game that consistently pushes you forward into the action. The stealth and puzzle elements help to break up the sometimes monotonous action, and the game is visually impressive with some nice 3D graphics. If you like Captain America, and want a fairly good portable action game, you can't go too wrong here. While it doesn't do anything outside the box or spectacular, and the combat is pretty simple, it is at least an entertaining and reasonably polished experience.

Aside from satisfactory brawling and shield-throwing, Captain America: Super Soldier on 3DS fails to deliver. It’s like Steve Rogers before the super serum - slow, average and totally uninteresting.
Captain America he’s a hero, going to take pollution down to zero. Oh wait, wrong captain. Though while we’re on the subject what was the deal with the kid that got the power of heart? Poor bugger. Anyway, instead of a gaudy superhero intent on ridding the world of evil and pollutants, we have a gaudy superhero intent on ridding the world of evil and bright red people (so watch out Santa). With the film featuring Cap due out soon then, I suppose it was only a matter of time before a game ...
