If you're looking for a solid shooter wth both single, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay - we would highly recommend you check it out!
Check out my review on Destiny so far! It isn't like most games you've played.
Simplistic “it’s like X mixed with Y” comparisons don’t really add up when attempting to explain what Destiny is, or why it’s worth playing. It borrows from many well-established gaming destinations, but the climate of each is wildly different, and often incompatible. It’s a complex production that boils down simply to this: Destiny is a mechanically excellent, visually evocative FPS housed within...
Destiny’s faux-MMO approach to shooters is a shallow, dull experience that even hardcore fans may find difficult to stick with except to gaze at its worlds or engage in the entertaining competitive multiplayer.
The game is very fun to play, and there is a lot to do after the you beat it. The main story is not as good as other Bungie games, but the lore itself can have some gamers hooked. The gameplay and soundtrack make the game what it is – unique. Bungie has succeeded again, and the game suffers virtually no problems. The issue with Destiny is that its not a bad game, but its also not a good game. Unli...
Destiny feels like the key elements of an FPS and an MMO gently resting shoulder to shoulder, instead of being fused together in a truly creative way. It plays and looks great, and offers many, many hours of entertainment to anyone okay with repeating the same tasks, but it isn’t exactly the game-changing science fiction epic we felt it was aspiring to. Fortunately, that doesn’t diminish the fact ...
Flawed, yes. Fun? Certainly. A total failure? Not really.
You are brought back from the dead in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. This could be the plot for any number of science fiction movies or novels but it’s the start to Bungie’s highly anticipated new intellectual property Destiny. Your Ghost, voiced by actor Peter Dinklage of Death at a Funeral and Underdog fame, prods you back to life and informs you that he needs your help.
Destiny is the type of game where there's a lot to enjoy if you make the most of it. Putting in an effort to coordinate with others to tackle certain bounties or challenges is just plain fun, and the story and other stuff isn't required for that sort of cooperative experience. That's where Destiny is at its best and where it can build from in expansions and sequels. As the launching pad for a new ...
Destiny is far from a perfect game, with flaws quite clearly apparent in the storytelling and the repetitive formula, but it’s also a game that can quite easily keep you coming back for more time and again, especially if you play with friends. It’s a shame that some of the ideas in the Vault of Glass Raid couldn’t trickle down into the earlier stages, for more variety and intellectual challenge, b...
Bungie spared no expense to create a great looking mix of shooter and MMO, but high production value and pretty nice gameplay can’t hide that Destiny is just shallow, and it can’t live up to the hype.
Not with a bang.
