Fire Emblem: Three Houses was a massively popular and successful game in a massively popular and successful series. Generally, I consider myself a Fire Emblem fan. I liked Shadow Dragon, LOVED Awakening, enjoyed Shadows of Valentia, and beat all three of the Fates games. For some reason though, Three Houses never clicked with me. To be fair, it did release alongside games I was very excited for, so it was overshadowed for me a bit. Ultimately, I only played some of it and never found found ti...

Fire Emblem: Three Hopes is an intriguing and addicting alternative take on the story and characters of 2019's popular strategy RPG, with engaging gameplay and plenty of replay value.

It’s so easy to recommend Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes to not only fans of Fire Emblem, but also those simply seeking a high-octane action game. And if you also happen to enjoy politically-charged stories, you’ll absolutely fall in love with it. This is, without a doubt, one of the best Warriors games yet, taking strategy elements of the Fire Emblem series to embellish the gameplay in all the right ways. And the masterstroke is that, despite being set in the same world as Fire Emblem: Three Houses, its narrative cleverly makes playing that title an option rather than a...

Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes does right by Three Houses in the best of ways, but it does lean a bit too much into the Dynasty Warriors way in others. For diehards though, this is a must play.

What Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes loses in the social aspects, it more than makes up for in fun combat and three engaging stories. Seeing the Three Houses characters in a different scenario is incredibly interesting, especially with Byleth now playing the villain. This is a rock solid action game that perfectly compliments its sister title.

While the original Fire Emblem Warriors offered a decent Musou game in the shell of a Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes provides the full Fire Emblem experience by offering a deep story and social system on top of slightly reworked Musou mechanics that are grounded in the rules of Fire Emblem's turn based combat.

Do you want more Fire Emblem in your life? Because you’re getting so much more Fire Emblem. Nintendo and Omega Force have whipped up a massive new adventure with Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Yes, this is another Warriors game. But in all fairness, this is a franchise uniquely well-suited to the formula. The huge cast of characters feel right at home, and so does the fighting style. More than anything though, this is a story tailor-made for massive battles.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a frenetic musou game with all the mechanics that make the core series enjoyable. It has something for newbies and veterans alike.

Just shy of three years ago was the release of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, the latest mainline game in Nintendo’s tactical RPG series. It’s safe to say it blew up and came with glowing reviews. Now comes somewhat of a continuation of that, with Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. It’s not the first Musou or Warriors-style game for the Fire Emblem series, with Fire Emblem Warriors releasing in 2017. While that title fizzled a little bit, not entirely taking advantage of its cast, Three Hop...

Three Hopes features the often repetitive combat style developer Omega Force is renowned for, but enough dedicated Fire Emblem mechanics exist to make it feel like something more than a simple spin-off.

Three Hopes serves up a fun story that will definitely please a lot of Three Houses fans, and despite a few character missteps here and there, it's well worth experiencing. Just be careful not to fall to the dark side.

The more I played Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, the more I became invested. Every five chapters or so is about the cadence that I felt my excitement steadily rising, and I’m happily working on another playthrough to check out an additional path, more story, and more characters. While the core Warriors gameplay likely isn’t going to completely win over folks who have already tried to get into it, those of you who do enjoy it should have a ton of fun with Three Hopes.

Fire Emblem should be the perfect partner for Dynasty Warriors style action, but this incompetently made crossover squanders its potential on trite fan service and hollow gameplay.

When not tackling challenges on the battlefield or building relationships with characters in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, players will find themselves with a list of important chores to accomplish around the base camp. During missions, building materials will be amassed that can be used to upgrade the many facilities that are accessible at the base camp location. This includes a shopkeeper, blacksmith, kitchen, and many other amenities. By upgrading each building, players gain access to higher-tier items, new resources, and additional services that help progress gameplay. While these types of tasks can be a chore to accomplish, Three Hopes...

As someone that thoroughly enjoyed my 200 hours with Fire Emblem: Three Houses, I never expected Three Hopes to meet, let alone surpass that experience — but it does. Three Hopes’ systems all coalesce into something truly special, and the war-driven story allows the world and characters to shine their brightest. Though it could do with less padding, Three Hopes represents Koei Tecmo firing on all cylinders, and it’s easily another title to add to the growing list of essential Switch games.
