Omensight is a great title that suffers a bit from repetition in gameplay but makes up for it with some great combat, fun progression mechanics, excellent voice work and well-delivered story. If you’re looking for a fun ARPG experience I would recommend checking out Omensight. With the game just recently finding its way to the Nintendo Switch as well as previously being available on Steam and PlayStation 4, Omensight is a fun, fast paced, story driven ARPG that has a lot to offer.

Overall, Omensight is well worth the price of admission. It’s short and the lack of a chapter select is a bummer, but I highly enjoyed what time I spent with it. I do wish I could play it more without making a new save file… but the fact that I’m doing so and that I wish for more content perhaps says something about the game.

A solid action game that delivers an excellent story. Omensight’s combat and overall polish could use a bit of fine tuning.

As for the story, it is kind of funny. Being The Harbinger is like being Batman. The way it’s written, The Harbinger only has a vague idea what’s going on. The witch that serves as narrator has to tell you things like “You’re The Harbinger and your job is to stop the apocalypse.” Amusingly, everyone else knows all about you and that you are an omen of the Big Deal End Times. But despite knowing that, they continue doing what they did before that got everyone killed. It’s like Batman showing up in the middle of a battlefield, everyone pausing...

But even with its few limitations, Omensight was love at first sight for me. Urrailia and its citizens are vibrant and intriguing, begging for you to spend time with them. The combat may be slightly repetitive, but you’ll be too busy enjoying the story and saving the world to care. If you’re in need of an easy-to-pick-up hack and slash RPG, you can’t go far wrong with Omensight.

Omensight tells a story that’s worth discovering, and digging for the truth is ultimately rewarding, if a bit easy. The standard gameplay linking these bits together, however, fails to hold up until the end. It undoubtedly does the job for the first part of the game, but gradually dries out afterwards. When the platforming isn’t just there, it’s frustrating due to the camera angles and unwieldy keyboard controls. The combat has a steady flow of unlocks going into it, but fights begin to feel identical once you’ve encountered all three factions once or twice. I wish Omensight re-used levels and...

Omensight scratches so many itches for me. I love murder mystery games and branching, time-manipulated narratives so much. Action games are some of my favorite games, and fantasy worlds that aren’t just more elves and goblins are so much more vibrant. Omensight takes all of these delicious ingredients and confidently tosses them into a boiling pot together. Some of the pieces don’t come together perfectly in the end, but the final dish is still unlike anything I can think of, and I can only hope Spearhead Games delivers just as great of an experience with their next release.

Omensight's story is extremely entertaining and it has some fun combat to back it up. Just be ready to repeat the same segments a couple of times.

An enticing (if sometimes uneven) action-adventure that will surprise you with an intriguing mystery and surprisingly deep characters.
