PGA Tour 2K25

2K Sports and HB Studios have stepped up to the tee on that front. The Golf Club was a nice reintroduction to the virtual fairways and greens before it handed over to PGA Tour 2K21 and, more recently, PGA Tour 2K23.

The team at HB Studios and 2K has found the mark with PGA Tour 2K25. The game is a significant improvement on everything that made the previous title good and, when it comes to sports titles, that’s exactly what the doctor ordered.

PGA Tour 2K25 is a golf game for everyone, offering an enjoyable golf simulation for players of any skill level. There are incremental upgrades across the board from 2K23, though I do have concerns about the accessibility of some online modes, as well as the increased prevalence of premium currencies.

PGA Tour 2K25 comes back strong, with substantial changes to how it looks and plays bringing it within striking distance of the competition.

While I probably don’t look like it, I am a massive fan of golf games. Maybe it’s because I’m useless at golf in real life, but I’ve been sinking birdies and the occasional eagle for years – and once upon a time, even a hole in one! 2K and HB Studios returning with another entry in their golf series is a welcome sight to behold, especially as PGA Tour 2K25 is an all-round improvement on the last.

After the EA Sports PGA Tour series made a comeback in 2023 after being a decade away, HB Studios made the calculated move of taking two years to develop PGA Tour 2K25, as opposed to 2K’s other annualized releases like NBA 2K. PGA Tour 2K25 is a strong return to form for the franchise, even when it's hamstrung by terrible progression.

PGA Tour 2K25 is certainly a big improvement, even though it overloads the experience with so many upgradable items and the trivial personality system in MyCareer mode. The game is visually wholesome and the gameplay feels butter smooth that's newcomer-friendly and rewarding for pros who adjust the stats on every swing.

Not the most polished of officially licensed golf games, but its passion for the sport and wide variety of options make it a very playable and fun experience.

PGA Tour 2K25 is not a perfect game, but it does a solid job of bringing golf to life for new and experienced fans. Some new game modes and more improved visuals and performance would make the next installment a true classic, but PGA Tour 2K25 is a good step forward.
