Pikuniku is a short and sweet experience that's fun, simple, engaging, and smooth. I can recommend it to just about anyone.

This is a joyful, happy-faced good time. There are "boss fights", but they're deliberately not an impediment to progress. (One especially in a way that I shan't spoil, but gosh it made me laugh.) The chatter is plentiful, but always fun to read (or enact). And it's extremely funny.

Are you in the mood for an absurdist yet cheerful adventure-platformer about corporate sabotage? Pikuniku just might be your game.

We struggle to recall a dystopia quite as cheerful as the one found in Pikuniku. It’s a short game, but one packed with heart and imagination, with a great single-player component and excellent couch co-op that can genuinely be enjoyed by anyone. It makes us remember the fun we had cutting pieces from our friends in Snipperclips, but where we occasionally hit a brick wall with that game, Pikuniku ...

To further mix things up, Pikuniku throws in a variety of wonderfully absurd mini-games, including a basketball competition and, my personal favourite, a dance-off against a robot. There’s also a heavy helping of humour which lands more hits than it does misses, the jokes often stemming from how naive and oblivious the land’s inhabitants are. It’s not the longest game in the world, taking three ho...

Despite being rather short, Pikuniku is sure to please players anyway thanks to its pleasant presentation, relaxed atmosphere, goofy characters, and its world that's just plain fun to explore.

In the wrong hands, Pikuniku could have been a shallow and ultimately forgettable experience, but its expressive dialogue, clever framing, and charming, upbeat soundtrack do enough heavy lifting to elevate it into something far more endearing. The characterization, in particular, is delightfully fleshed out. It’s a simple game with a ton of heart that’ll leave you beaming when everything’s said an...

Bouncing into Pikuniku’s colourful dystopian deep state scheme.

Pikuniku is the type of game in which one moment you’re rescuing vegetable-shaped blobs stuck on trees, while another sees you invading the realm of a giant demonic piece of toast, in a sequence that pays tribute to classic platformers. It also starts with a pink creature in a top hat enthusiastically offering “free money” in exchange for junk.

Pikuniku is a quirky and colourful puzzle-adventure from the wondrous minds of French-British collective ‘Sectordub’. Rémi Forcadell, Alan Zucconi, Arnaud De Bock, and Calum Bowen’s peculiar world evokes a sense of comical wonder and optimistic chime. An underlying social commentary and fluent construction elevates this little project to the next level, making it a necessary addition to anyone’s l...
