Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is an amazing video game in most aspects, worth a play for sure.
Back in 2012, I called Sleeping Dogs one of the biggest -- and most pleasant -- surprises of the year. Two years later, the surprise has obviously dissipated, but that doesn't take away from what United Front Games achieved here. Playing the Definitive Edition reminded me how much I enjoyed its excellent story and characters, combat, and city, but also made me pine for a true new-gen sequel. The d...

It's hard to recommend anyone repurchasing Sleeping Dogs for this Definitive Edition, but it could be a great experience for newcomers.
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is amongst the finest open-world games of recent years, with gratifying and brutal combat, a genuinely gripping story and excellent car handling for this type of game. Despite some technical issues, which perhaps should have been addressed for a ‘definitive edition’, the game remains as playable as it was two years ago. Given the wealth of content and its relative...
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition not only includes an updated version of the 2012 crime thriller, but also packs in all the downloadable content. While a solid collection, this port is marred by inconsistent frame rate, technical problems and a high price tag. We can argue about whether or not this is enough to warrant the $60 asking price, but there's no debate over the quality of Sleeping Dogs ...
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is the perfect chance for newcomers to give United Front Games' open-world caper a go. Stuffed to the gills with content, it's a generous package, and one that even those considering a second trip will enjoy.
Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition is a smart, accessible, and enjoyable open-world adventure with plenty to do. The terrific melee combat system and intriguing story are more than enough to warrant a recommendation to anyone yet to play it, but if you’ve experienced the streets of Hong Kong before then the slightly sharper visuals and included DLC are a tougher sell.
In a gaming sphere that currently adores sandbox and open world games, too few gamers would recognise the name Wei Shen. Sleeping Dogs' lead is a troubled character who makes the likes of Aiden Pearce seem annoyingly lacking in the personality department, and the aforementioned title that our chaotic cop comes from is often similarly overlooked.
While the core Sleeping Dogs experience is still worth playing, the Definitive Edition is loaded with graphical issues and costs way too much for a game that plays worse than the PC version released two years ago.
Definitive editions of games are becoming more and more prominent these days. The latest game to receive this treatment is Sleeping Dogs, which hits retail today (at time of publishing). At the development helm is Vancouver based United Front games who are also responsible for the excellent Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on Xbox One. We loved Sleeping Dogs when it first came out in August of 2012...
The part I’m not entirely sold on is the gunplay. Now, it works, it’s solid and it’s fun, in terms of mechanics, at least. But the enemy encounters are sometimes just not thought out. One part of the game has you hiding around a corner, shooting into a hideout. Thugs will keep spawning until you hit a limit, and when you empty the room, any newly spawned baddies come from the corner you’ve spent h...
