Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2

Despite being somewhat repetitive and having more than its fair share of rough edges, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is still a massive improvement over the first game in the series, and features some real tension-filled high spots. Some will adore it, others will feel as we do, that Sniper Elite V2 still holds the genre trophy for now. If a third game is on the cards, then the battle may be closer in the future.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 isn’t bereft of good ideas or mechanics, it’s just that they’re all trapped in a short series of levels that rarely give you anything all that interesting to do with them. Combine that with some graphical glitches and the slow and ultimately forgettable multiplayer, and you have a mediocre game that all but the hardest of the hardcore sniper-wannabes should pass on.

I feel that first and foremost I need to point out that I love playing the stealth angle in games. Also, despite my poor aim, I love sneaking in slow and sniping foes off from a distance while I stay safely in the shadows. Keeping that in mind it would seem surprising that I didn’t really enjoy my time with Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 very much, but it’s true. Quite obviously I have the patience for a slow and steady assault but SGW2 was just too slow to be considered enjoyable.

Buggy, boring and strangely tame, this isn't worth anyone's time or money.

The game also features and online mode. The single mode is team death match. There are two maps and a collection of six guns which are chosen before you start the round. The multiplayer in Sniper 2 is a unique experience in the sense that everyone is just camping and waiting for someone to pop out. You have to be extremely patient to get enjoyment out of the multiplayer as your kill opportunities are going to be limited.
