We put Sunday Gold through its paces, but find an uneven and unbalanced system, full of frustration despite an interesting concept and world.
There's a good point and click adventure to be found here, but it's buried under a gruelling turn-based battle system that makes everything feel like too much of a slog.
The scene is London in 2070. Crime and poverty are rampant. Technology rules and the line between corporations and criminal syndicates has become as blurry as security cam footage from a liquor store robbery. Point and Click adventure Sunday Gold, from BKOM Studios and Team17, puts you smack dab in the middle of this rather grim little scenario, as you lead a trio of underworld ne’er-do-wells taki...
Successfully marrying two completely different types of gameplay while still making sure they're sufficiently deep is no mean feat, but Sunday Gold offers up that and more with its excellent gameplay and lovable cast of foul-mouthed characters.
So, in the end, Sunday Gold is a fun, if occasionally frustrating, point-and-click adventure game with a visceral and effective, if simple, turn-based combat system and a working-class narrative about the corporations being the bad guys. It’s not Disco Elysium, but it also wasn’t trying to be. So, go into Sunday Gold for what it is, not what it may seem like on the surface.

I enjoyed the time I spent with Sunday Gold. The story kept me interested, and as mentioned before the art direction and characters, as well as their voice actors, made cut-scenes and just generally exploring around a treat. As for the mechanics and meat of the game I felt like there was a lot to be desired. I wanted more of everything presented here and I felt like almost everything outside of th...
BKOM Studios' Sunday Gold merges point-and-click adventure and turn-based RPG mechanics. While the result is an average representation of both, it makes for an interesting attempt at a genre mashup.
An ambitious blend of genres that winds up a jack of many trades but a master of none, Sunday Gold deserves credit for its aesthetics and goals but it’s difficult to recommend this trip to the races.
Sunday Gold is a unique experience from developer BKOM Studios and publisher Team 17 (known for the Worms series). Players control a party of three hooligans, exploring a rich, dystopian, Cyberpunk London in the 2070s as they work to untangle corporate conspiracies. This is particularly interesting because it is a creative blend of point-and-click adventures and turn-based combat. I only wish it w...
