Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is one of the best video game sequels ever. The second Uncharted entry achieves something that every game sequel wants to do, but few succeed in: improving on the problems from the previous entry while turning up the positives. The gameplay is better and much less stressful, thanks to tighter controls. Competitive play has your traditional team deathmatch, king of the hill, deathmatch, and turf war where you and another team battle for control over various zones of the map. Naughty Dog has put their spin on capture the flag by turning the flag into a big golden idol. You must carry this to your base to get the point but at the cost of moving slower and only able to use your pistol. It’s unfortunate that the gameplay doesn’t scale the heights of the production values, for while the gunplay is solid its relentlessness becomes weary towards the finale. But any misgivings aren’t enough to derail the immensely enjoyable rollercoaster ride and Uncharted 2’s wealth of character easily overcomes our gripes. As a spectacle it’s without compare, its epic vistas and rip-roaring set pieces combining with writing and pacing of a quality that’s alien to most videogames, helping to create one of this generation’s most charming adventures.

The single-player adventure packs in so many incredible moments that you'll be talking about it with friends for months and the multiplayer is rammed with content. A must buy.

Whether a newcomer to the series or if this is the first you’ve played (like me), Uncharted 2 should be in every gamers collection.  Replay value is probably moderate to high/moderate.  There is an online portion of this game which I didn’t play so therefore I am not reviewing, however after reading other reviews online, the multiplayer aspect is very fulfilling. The single player campaign is definitely worth at least 2 or 3 runs.  Given the fact that after you beat it on the hardest default setting, a harder difficulty is unlocked, this should give gamers an extra opportunity to tackle this g...
