MLB The Show 24 Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
MLB The Show 24 is another excellent update in one of the best sports game franchises. The Storylines mode continues to shine a light on forgotten Negro League legends, and the addition of women to Road to the Show is a welcomed one. Combine that with a refreshed look and you have the complete baseball package.
MLB The Show 24 loads its bases with plenty of options for beginners and veterans while exploring a legacy that should be played by all. It’s the best licensed sports title on the market, and there’s no close second.
MLB The Show’s commitment to nuance, iteration, and diversity is what sets it apart. Since the long-running series arrived on Xbox in 2021, the baseball sim has recontextualized sports games – emphasizing the purpose of communities while fitting in new features like Pinpoint Pitching, custom stadiums, and online ranked co-op. The Show 23 pushed the bar further with Storylines: The Negro Leagues, an interactive museum that detailed eight stars of baseball’s segregated past. This year’s iteration mirrors it with new Storyline episodes, a 60-minute tribute to Yankee legend Derek Jeter, and an ori...
MLB The Show 24 is another very good baseball game from San Diego Studio. It suffers from a lot of the same pitfalls as other annual sports titles, but The Show is so clearly head-and-shoulders above those games. The Negro Leagues Season 2, inclusive additions to RTTS, and the introduction of Impact Plays show that this series hasn’t quite lost its fastball.
Swing for the fences, experience game-deciding moments, become a legend and live out your baseball dreams in MLB The Show 24.
All in all, MLB The Show 24 continues to swing for the fences as the best representation of the sport in video game form, and save for a few misses, it always delivers. The outstanding gameplay is enhanced with an elevated presentation in all of the modes, and the storytelling in Storylines is a big draw for those wanting to embrace the game's roots and pay homage to the legends from yesteryear. While Diamond Dynasty can be an acquired taste, and the inclusion of Derek Jeter may not appeal to all, these missteps hardly take the shine of the gem that is MLB The Show 24, and it's time to play ba...
Every year sports games come and go, from every sport imaginable including AFL, NRL, Cricket, Football/Soccer, NBA, NFL, and Golf. But MLB has something these games do not. I celebrated scoring a home run because it felt like an accomplishment. The controls are much the same as a cricket game, simple but effective button presses and directional inputs, but for some reason, getting it all right in MLB The Show 24 just feels better. Perhaps it’s the slight cut away from the batter, before fol...
This year sees another iteration of the world’s biggest baseball video game: MLB The Show 24. Not a lot has changed since last year– they still haven’t made
MLB The Show 24 delights with another season of Storylines: The Negro Leagues and continued on-field excellence, but some modes are still in desperate need of an overhaul.
There’s more than enough here for almost every baseball fan to find something they enjoy, which is ultimately the goal. Not everyone’s going to love Road to the Show, but they’ll like something else. Not all of MLB The Show 24 is good, but there is a love and respect for baseball present. It’s not a home run, but it is a solid hit.
Sony’s MLB The Show 24 continues to be a strong simulation on the field, but its errors everywhere else and lack of innovation from last year keeps this one in the infield. Here’s our MLB The Show 24 review.
Gameplay MLB The Show 24 , the newest installment in the MLB video game series, features Vladmir Guerrero Jr. on the cover and places a significant emphasis on the Negro Leagues. This edition offers a plethora of content to explore, boasting four distinct game modes, each offering seemingly li
