Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster is the first high-profile RPG for the Nintendo Switch 2, and it's one not to be missed out on. A 3DS classic reborn, its fantasy world and turn-based battles shine brighter than ever before on Nintendo's latest console.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers spreads its wings, delivering brisk and exciting combat that notches a radiant feather in the cap of the Soulslike subgenre. However, its plumage elsewhere is quite a bit ruffled.
Lost in Random: The Eternal Die is a dark fairy tale action roguelike that mixes fast-paced melee combat with card and dice attacks. Though its scope is more focused than other giants of the genre, it manages to deliver on what it promises.
The AI: The Somnium Files series returns with No Sleep For Kaname Date, adding escape rooms into the mix. Rather than a full-fledged sequel, the game feels more akin to a fandisc and is best enjoyed by existing series fans.
All in Abyss is a poker visual novel that does justice to neither poker nor visual novels. It works, but only for those who are curious about its tasteless anime girl torture scenes.
Raidou Kuzunoha XIV has made his way to modern consoles with new flair and overhauled gameplay, making for a refreshing and fun update of a distinctive Atlus classic.
Dragon Is Dead is a fun action rogue-lite, but a few underbaked and poorly executed elements hold it back.
One of the positive sides to updating old titles for modern consoles is making them easier to experience. There are a lot of changes in Capcom's Onimusha 2: Samurai Destiny, but do they make this unique title worth revisiting?
Rewinding time is both a blessing and a curse. While Maliki: Poison of the Past is not a bad game, it definitely needed to rewind itself to fix some of its core gameplay and add a dash of fun.
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is an inventive take on the Arthurian legends. A solid iteration on the open world RPG formula ensures that the game will find plenty of fans.
Fresh out of the furnace, Blades of Fire burns hot with ambition and casts itself into a sharp, reliable adventure, even if some aspects could use further tempering. Seize the blade as Aran de Lira and forge your path to slay Queen Nerea.
Creature Keeper is a new monster collecting game with some interesting ideas, but some frustrating design choices as well. Fun can be had here, but with some serious caveats.
