Ace Attorney: Investigations Collection is undoubtedly the best way to experience both Investigations games. Given how extensive it is, the new visual style is sure to divide, but both available options are a win for any fan, no matter how you paint it. While the first game has some pacing issues, the overarching story and case-by-case narratives are all gripping from beginning to end, making it one of the many Ace Attorney collections that are well worth your time.

The Miles Edgeworth Collection is a stellar product. It features some of the series' best writing, varied gameplay, and unique set pieces. Not only is this the best way to play these games, it’s one of the only ways to play the fantastic sequel. While the guesswork puzzle-solving can be frustrating at times, all too often, I'm too entirely captivated by Miles and the gang to be that bothered.

The streets of justice are calling once again as Miles Edgeworth steps back into the spotlight in The Great Ace Attorney Investigations 1 & 2: The Edgeworth Collection. These Nintendo DS gems from 2009 and 2011 have been polished up for modern platforms, bringing sharper visuals and smart quality-of-life features to the table.

This collection is enjoyable for taking the typical Phoenix Wright formula and presenting it in a totally different way. Edgeworth's adventures are wholly his own presented in his own unique style, but at heart, the Ace Attorney blueprint is still on display, for better or worse. The worst thing I can say about it is that certain sections, like with Phoenix's games, can feel too verbose for their own good. There will be a good place for everything to wrap up relatively neatly, the epic orchestral score will start to swell up, and then the story will just keep going...

I've always had a soft spot for the Ace Attorney franchise. Visual novels are hit-and-miss as far as I'm concerned, but something about how this series tells its stories – and how those stories range from grounded true-to-life tales of friendship and perseverance to off-the-wall bits where a killer whale becomes one of Phoenix Wright's clients – always resonates with me.

As with the other remaster pieces, Ace Attorney Investigations Collection serves as the quintessential modern release for Miles Edgeworth’s groovy justice adventures. More than deserving of a spot on the courtroom shelf for any Ace Attorney fan, or indeed any newcomer just climbing aboard this wild ride.

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection may only have two entries in it compared to three in most of the other collections, but the two games included are well worth it by themselves. Not only do the two Investigations games have compelling stories and cases within it, but they also have arguably the best gameplay in the entire series. While the courtroom structure of the mainline games is also great, both Ace Attorney Investigations 1 and 2 were so refreshing for their mix of in-the-field investigations and interrogations with people. The only downside is that it can start to feel a bit...

Overall the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is a great kit of two very fun adventure titles. Alongside new quality-of-life features and development documents on characters and environments, this collection finally completes the series’ transition to modern platforms and brings an untranslated game westward for the first time. Highly recommended for Ace Attorney fans who’ve never played these games before. ∎

The Ace Attorney Investigations Collection finally lets fans have every mainline Ace Attorney game on one platform and in a variety of languages. While AAI1 is one of the franchise’s weaker titles, AAI2 is one of its best with a new, excellent translation to English. The new art style may not appeal to everyone, but thankfully you can go back to the original pixel art. With a gallery containing a ton of art and music, this is yet another badge on Capcom’s lapel.

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection bundles together two wonderful experiences following Miles Edgeworth. While the first game was available in the West, this is the first time that Prosecutor's Gambit has been localized. The new additions are welcomed, offering a pleasant visual upgrade and a solid gallery mode to experience the music, visuals, and more. Overall, Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is an easy recommendation for any fan of detective games or visual novels.

Two of the best Ace Attorney games are given their due with another beautifully remastered collection that's every bit as essential as the rest of the series. Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is simply fantastic. There's no arguing with that.

One of Capcom's most handsome Ace Attorney remasters to date, the Investigations Collection brings welcome improvements to some longstanding series weaknesses, but divorcing it from its courtroom setting and structure is its biggest and most fatal flaw.

The Ace Attorney Investigations Collection takes the action away from the courtroom, with players instead poking their noses around crime scenes and interviewing bystanders in the hopes of putting together a solid case. What's more, the two games included here have been brilliantly remastered, bringing their characters to life like never before. It's just a shame that progression sometimes feels like it relies on trial and error.

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is the last of the Ace Attorney Switch remakes, but certainly not the least of them. Just make sure you're up-to-date on Ace Attorney 1-3 first, or you'll miss out on half the fun. The first game doesn't quite feel up to par with the series' best, but Investigations 2 certainly does, and might even be one of our favourites. We'll hold it! (heh) in our hearts forever.

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is the final major release to complete the Ace Attorney series on modern consoles. When I reviewed the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy earlier this year, I miswrote that it was the final piece of the series needed on modern consoles. There were two other side games I’d forgotten about, which are both found in this collection: Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, and Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor’s Gambit. There is also a crossover game with Professor Layton called “Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright”, so technically we’re still not done. But Prosecutor’s Gambit was never released...

The Ace Attorney Investigations Collection revives a pair of underappreciated Ace Attorney spin-offs on modern platforms, and shows that the view from the prosecutorial side of the justice system is surprisingly familiar, if no less enjoyable for it.
