Kitty Powers' Matchmaker Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
If you ever wanted to run your own dating agency then here's a game for you. Kitty Powers' Matchmaker may look gaudy and tasteless but it's quite an engaging experience that'll shoot Cupid's arrow straight into your heart.
The joy of the game, then, comes from Kitty Powers herself. Her hilarious and sparkling personality is enough to keep you engaged at least for a few hours, and even though her double entendres do soon begin to repeat themselves, I still found myself chuckling after the third or fourth time I heard them. Knowing that Kitty Powers is the real drag persona of Rich Franke, the creative director of Magic Potion, the development team behind Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker, made me like the game even more. It’s rare something so personal is embedded into a game, let alone an entire persona. Its innate inclu...
Believe it or not, dating simulators are not the highest forms of entertainment. Despite this, they do have their place as those weird ass games that some people get way too invested in. They are similar to sports games, in that respect. Those sorts of people will find some enjoyment in Kitty Powers' Matchmaker, as it is a perfectly acceptable one of those games. That being said, if you want a dating sim to get a lot of traction, you need to go full on with the silly features. More ridiculous farting mini-games, less "trendy" dialogue... these are the recipes for success. While you get glimpse...
It’s a bit light on presentation and depth, but Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker is an enjoyable enough dating game that revels in its campy side with aplomb. It’s also a touch pricey for what it is, and is definitely better-suited to mobile.
Camp is a word that will keep popping into your head while playing Kitty Powers' Matchmaker. In fact, this reviewer's confident in saying that the only way this title could possibly be more camp would be if it suddenly decided to start pitching tents. Innuendo and the sort of humour that would have Sid James laughing in his grave are the primary weapon employed by this surprisingly amusing dating sim, and everything about its presentation evokes an era of British comedy synonymous with the likes of Benny Hill and the Carry On films.
Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker is one of the best dating simulator games out there with endless things to do and comedic reliefs. Prepare to grab a bucket of popcorn or ice cream and just chillax on the couch or bed to be engrossed in a comedic game loaded with many entertaining aspects with a great amount of challenge.
