Persona 4 Golden lives up to its name as a must have game for all PS Vita owners
By building a fantastic story filled with a deep cast of characters Persona 4 Golden manages to truly invite you into its world. While at times peaks and troughs in gameplay can be jarring the complete package is one any JRPG fan should turn their hand to.
It was such a joy to just spend time in Inaba, that it's got me dreaming of Atlas one day putting out a Persona in which you just simply exist. In my good buddy Yosuke Hanamura’s words: "Days like today... days when I did nothing. They’re all important days."
This marvelous port of a JRPG classic feels more like a director's cut; the definitive version of a thrilling journey equal parts charming and challenging
The PlayStation Vita is lucky to have Persona 4 Golden. While the game doesn’t do much of note besides bringing the 2008 title to the HD era, it doesn’t need to. The story hooks you, dungeon crawling makes for a great time, and exploring your relationships while building a better army is the kind of tinkering you can get lose hours to. Persona 4 Golden is perfectly at home on the handheld and should dominate your free time.
“Persona 4 Golden is what Persona 4 should have been all along.”

Persona 4 Golden was one of the PS Vita's defining games. An expanded version of the PS2's Persona 4, which first released in 2008, Golden is widely regarded as one of the best JRPGs out there — and it's still easy to see why.
Over ten years later, Persona 4 Golden remains a thoroughly enjoyable and engrossing RPG that, for the most part, has stood the test of time. Although its visuals might be a bit dated, the gameplay and story presented here do more than enough to justify the purchase, while all the tweaks and additions that came with this ‘Golden’ edition round out most of the rougher edges from the initial PS2 release. If you're looking to give the Persona series a shot, Persona 5 Royal is a good place to start, but P4G is an excellent entry in the series and one that we would recommend you pick up when you ca...
It’s also worth mentioning that you can now choose between English and Japanese voice acting, which as far as I’m aware, wasn’t available on the original Vita release. The game also hits a smooth 60 frames per second (and beyond!) and visuals are significantly sharper than they were on handheld. This is the definitive way to play one of ATLUS’ best games and Play Anywhere ensured smooth save transitions between my Xbox and PC. For twenty whole dollars this game is simply a fantastic deal, and one I can easily recommend to any Xbox player, JRPG fan or not. It’s launching on Game Pass too, so th...
This JRPG favourite has aged like a fine malt.
Persona 4 Golden brings the series‘ first smash hit to modern consoles and it’s a treat. If you enjoyed Persona 5, you’ll probably love this title. It’s easily the closest to its more popular successor in look, feel, and mechanics. Persona 4 Golden is in many ways a gentler story than Persona 5, but it could also be called a more grounded one. Whatever the case, Persona 4 changed the course of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, and I can see why.
