Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is one of the most unique RPGs in the market. With a focus on character customization and non-linear storytelling, it certainly breaks many staples of the genre but doesn't abandon its roleplaying roots. It might be a niche game for many, but it is a delightful and unforgettable experience.

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of The Seven is a unique JRPG experience offering more with its inheritance system and empire management. It’s an extremely polished remake that does well in most areas but stumbles in some, which can turn off some fans.

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is a classic through and through. Not many games have such unique systems and concepts and choose to stick by them after all of these years. This is a remake done with the utmost respect to the original, featuring modern accommodations that increase the ease of play while not diminishing the experience. Battles are strategic and fast-paced with many variables to consider from formations to character customization. The freedom of SaGa is on full blast wit...

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is a bit of an underwhelming RPG that has some unique gameplay mechanics. The open-ended world narrative structure feels freeing, but the characters are boring. The glimmer mechanic is fun, but the battle system lacks a strategic hook. Each of its gameplay systems is a double-edged sword, as we’d find a particular aspect enticing while another was baffling. It feels like a slight step back from the other recent SaGa games, but if you’re a fan of the series, Revenge of the Seven might resonate with you more than it did with us.

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is a complete 3D remake of the 1993 classic Romancing SaGa 2. The SaGa franchise has always enjoyed playing around with the tropes and trappings of JRPGs, and this title is no exception. While some pieces of this old game are frustrating and the monster design confuses me, it’s still a fun time if you’re willing to meet it where it’s at.

Combat has that serotonin feeding gameplay that I’ve always loved, but with a little bit less going on behind the scenes. Romancing SaGa 2 does a fantastic job of communicating to the player how these systems work and what you can do to influence them. They have added the timeline battle gauge that has been seen in newer SaGa entries so you can further strategize against enemies while you find the perfect party composition with the perfect formation so you can have the most lethal party possible. The feeling of learning a new, powerful skill during a hard battle is...
