Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones is not only one of the best stealth games ever made, it is up there with the best platformers. Everything good from the original game has been improved upon and polished while its flaws have been fixed. Stealth Inc 2 is what other developers should look at when developing a sequel: it is one that makes the previous game obsolete. Curve Digital has developed a near perfect game that should be experienced by all gamers.
Thanks to its clever puzzle design and brilliant progression, Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones sets itself apart from its more obvious inspirations. While the world is mostly dark and drab, utilizing the variety of interesting multi-purpose gadgets to solve puzzles and explore the cloning facility is incredibly rewarding, and the leaderboards provide the impetus to replay sections until they are mastered. Combine all that with excellent implementation of the Wii U’s unique features, including Miiverse messages and the GamePad’s use during the robust co-op mode, and you have a game that is amon...

With its cute art style, excellent use of light and shadow, and challenging puzzles, Stealth Inc. 2 is a great game to check out if you want to put your problem solving skills and reflexes to the test. Some of my favorite parts aren't necessarily in testing chambers where you have to perform death-defying feats of multitasking. It's in place like when you disguise yourself as a robot and your clone makes little robot noises in an effort to fit in. That, along with the shifting colors of the stealth goggles, and the multitude of uses for the Inflate-a-Mate are the little touches that impress up...
Stealth Inc. 2 is by no means a bad 2D puzzle platformer, but it doesn’t stand out in a genre which has had some impressive entries in the past year. Attempts to improve the experience of its predecessor by adding an overworld feel more like padding than an increase in scope and many of its levels necessitate foreknowledge to complete them successfully. Still, there are pleasures to be found in discovering the many facets of the tools and the puzzles do an admirable job of squeezing out their individual potential in clever ways.
Office politics can be a killer. As anybody who has ever had to share a tuna salad baguette with Gina from accounting will attest, we're all just one wrong word away from snapping. Usually that takes the guise of making off-hand comments about a 55-year-old's fascination with leopard skin underwear and tight skirts, but what if you worked somewhere where the stakes were a little higher? In ex-Wii U exclusive Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones, a bad day at the office is a matter of life or death – your life or death.
Other perks added to the game include small pieces of customisation. Finding shining articles around the world allows you to be able to change the look of your clone; i.e. a cliche viking helmet can be worn as well as other various body outfits. Challenges are ranked and scored throughout the world or more appropriately the Miiverse; forcing the perfectionist players to get the treasured “S” Rank. Although to attain such a revered mark, you may be forced to come back to the stage once a new skill or method has been acquired.
