Super Mario Party Jamboree sticks to the series’ winning formula and provides a ton of fun mini-games and boards. It’s truly a super experience whether you’re playing with friends or going up against the best online. However, the lack of fresh ideas may disappoint longtime Mario Party players.

The main event of Super Mario Party Jamboree is fine, but it doesn't offer anything truly original. As a package, though, there's plenty to like here, with several modes and ways to play, whether locally or online. The battle royale-like 'Koopathlon' is a real highlight in particular.

Super Mario Party Jamboree shows the franchise still has a lot of life to it. The boards and minigames work in harmony to deliver a good party mode. Having Party Planner Trek serve as the story mode is a great choice, as it provides a nice story while giving incentives to beat the mode. Some of the motion control modes didn’t hit as well, and playing online could lead to problems. These minor bumps don’t stop the party's momentum, as Super Mario Party Jamboree is an excellent addition to ...

Super Mario Party Jamboree is an excellent party game, and compares well with previous titles in the franchise. While remaining true to the nostalgic formula, minor tweaks, improvements, and new game modes help it rise above the series' modern releases to shine as a Super Star. Even if you have either of the previous Mario Party games for Switch, Jamboree is worth considering.

Mario Party is my far and away favorite franchise, to the shock and dismay of my 15 year old self. As much as I adore JRPGs, I’ve had too many games that disappoinetd me. Yet even, the most banal Mario Party title has enthralled me in one way or another. Even mediocre titles like Island Tour gave me some handheld fun with my wife, and Super Mario Party looked wonderful, even if the boards were limited as hell. The last Switch entry, Mario Party Superstars, let Nintendo know that fans liked ...

The third Mario Party game on Switch, Jamboree wants to be the next one you pick up. With a plethora of content and some robust features, getting it is a no-brainer.

Super Mario Party Jamboree continues the great trend that the past two Switch titles in the series started, and the new modes help make it stand out from the rest. It’s not perfect, but there are plenty of ways to kill time and have fun with friends or online rivals while you play.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is chaotic fun for the whole family and is the best of what Mario Party has to offer. Unique minigames, fun maps, and the opportunity for a new experience every time make this an all-time Switch classic that everyone should check out.

Super Mario Party Jamboree delivers a great Mario Party experience filled with nostalgia and quality of life improvements. Additional Planner and Koopathlon game modes offer a good reason to play the game solo.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is something of a mixed experience. Its main mode, while offering a truly solid selection of fun minigames and interesting boards, suffers from a frustratingly slow rate of play. Unless it's addressed in a future update, most players are probably going to eventually get tired of everything taking longer than it should. Most of the side modes are “take it or leave it” affairs as well, but Koopathlon, Toad’s Item Factory and especially Bowser’s Kaboom Squad are together good enough to make up for that. Fans with friends to play it with will feel satisfied with...

Super Mario Party Jamboree, like any other great Mario Party, isn’t some big departure from what was first established in 1998. There are some good times to be had in the new modes, but they serve more as a fun distraction from what these games do well. For a package as jam-packed with fun ideas and content, Jamboree is easily one of the most entertaining multiplayer games you can own on the Switch today.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is yet another well-polished, crowd-pleasing, multiplayer game starring Mario and all his friends and rivals, jam-packed with party boards, minigames, and extra modes. It adds a bit more chaos back into the mix, which we love to see, and even a whole new way to party: Pro Rules! Yet despite its inarguable quality, it feels a little too similar to the previous two titles to get my enthusiasm sky-high.

Super Mario Party Jamboree marks a significant advancement for the series. With customizable gameplay options, you can tailor your experience by removing elements you don’t enjoy, making it more accessible for everyone. Nintendo has also integrated more online features, allowing you to engage with friends and other players even when they aren’t physically nearby. While some of the additional modes might feel a bit weaker than others, the overall variety provides plenty of ways to enjoy this party.

Everyone has a Mario Party story at this point, and most of them end up with the storyteller either coming from or being utterly destroyed because of some questionable Star allocations at the end. If you’re out to relive past stories, make new ones, or potentially alienate yourself from a new friendship group, Super Mario Party Jamboree is the latest in the long-running franchise.

Overall Super Mario Party Jamboree has a lot to offer in ways of new ideas and replacing those disliked in the previous Mario Party game with updated, sharp graphics. Nintendo appears to have taken on board what fans liked from Superstars and merged the gameplays for those who like an even playing field while still finding new and creative ways to engage its players and keep them busy. There is certainly still a lot to discover.

Super Mario Party Jamboree doesn’t break new ground but takes the best of the series’ past and present to make a big celebratory package, best experienced at get-togethers where the real magic (and carnage) happens.

If you do have a reliable group – preferably one who you already play Mario Party games with – then Mario Party Jamboree is probably going to be your new go-to. In many of the recent entries, I feel a lot was phoned in. Not enough would be changed, but some aspects would feel weaker or even unwelcome. However, while Jamboree mainly just builds off the original framework, it’s a lot tighter and more rounded than we’ve seen since the N64 days. I’ll admit it can be hard to get excited about yet another Mario Party, but this one is...

Super Mario Party Jamboree disproves the idea that if you've seen one Mario Party game, you've seen them all. Nintendo went out of its way to create something heads-and-tails above what came before. It doesn't always work, but there are far more winners than participation trophies in this package. The Jamboree Buddies, in particular, make this the ideal way to play Mario Party. It'll still wreck friendships. At the end of the day, it is still Mario Party. But, now those friendships will be wrecked in a more interesting way.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is a fantastic new entry in the franchise that focuses on improving the core mechanics and experience, making for a more involving board game in the process, whilst also polishing everything to a slick sheen. Online aspects and modern stuff like the game's battle pass and collectibles are woven in smoothly, and the various new modes all have their place in a package that also delivers the goods in terms of minigame quality. Jamboree is the best Mario Party to date, so best make sure you've got your invite sorted.

Nintendo's party loses a little luster in its attempt to widen its scope.

Other Nintendo franchises may rise and fall, but the ever-dependable Mario Party has been steadily rocking since 1998. We’ve already received two entries in the franchise on Switch, the fairly well-received soft reboot of the series Super Mario Party and the more barebones throwback Mario Party Superstars, and now, we’re getting a third. As the name implies, Super Mario Party Jamboree is largely a continuation of what Super Mario Party started, with a focus on new modes and features over nostalgia.
