Finally bringing something new to the LEGO “Franchise” titles, this might scratch that itch that previous games have been missing, with a lot fewer bugs to boot. It doesn’t spell out what happens in the movie, but the ending is certainly a spoiler - just so you’re forewarned.

If there’s one area of entertainment I would have never imagined I’d ever fall in love with, it was the original Lego Movie. It had everything to be just another expensive and joyless product placement, but it ended up being one of the greatest animated films I’ve seen in years. We then got the even more amazing Lego Batman movie, as well as the recent Lego Movie 2 which, although not as good as the original, is still pretty fun in its own right. I also would have never imagined that it...

The Lego Movie 2 leads the known franchise into refreshing new gameplay.

Overall, The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame serves as a fun romp through different space systems with some familiar characters. The story leaves a lot to be desired, and the boss battles feel uninspired and repetitive. The amount of customization options when it comes to characters, locations, and weapons are what keeps The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame above water. It may not be a smash hit, but The LEGO Movie 2 Video game is a serviceable installment in the LEGO franchise.

The Lego Movie 2 Game, where players get to play as their favorite characters from the Lego Movie 2. The game was released recently and we were lucky enough to get our hands on it. For those unfamiliar with the game, it is based of the movie; The Lego Movie 2 which was in theaters not that long ago. However, I would recommend that the players watch the show beforehand they play the game. As the game itself does not retell the movie in a linear fashion.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame might seem like business as usual, but it's the addition of sandbox bits, the slew of items and gadgets, and the emphasis on exploration and puzzles that make TT's latest LEGO foray a cut above. Everything is (relatively) awesome.

As with the film, you're likely to go into The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame knowing almost exactly what to expect. Ironically enough, LEGO games rarely build on each other, and while this game borrows elements from other Traveler's Tales adventures, the result is simply another brick-based action platformer that does nothing to surprise.

It sounds like we’re really down on The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame - we’re not, we love the new ideas and the big revamp of the LEGO formula, but it’s an awkward first step rather than nailing it right away. We love that the levels are open world now! But there’s not enough to do in them, and they never really come alive. We love the focus on building things! But it’s been made too complicated. The LEGO Movie 2 is a great movie! But the Videogame has no dialogue between characters, and ...

Everything is not awesome in the game adaptation of The Lego Movie 2. Emmet may be as happy as ever, but his smile contradicts the true state of things. The world around him has transformed into a wasteland of bricks and sand, and the gameplay that previously put his misfit group of heroes on grand adventures has similarly fallen apart and is a ghost of its former self.

There’s just not much to The Lego Movie 2 Videogame that stands out as original. The core mechanics are mostly sound, but the rehashed movie story is told in a disjointed, unappealing fashion, and most of the things the game does well were done even better in previous games in the series.
