After the unnecessary backsteps of Destiny 2’s launch, and the complete fire show that was Anthem’s, the bar for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 was not exactly set too high. Fortunately, this did not stop Ubisoft from raising that bar for everyone else. Unlike Bungie, Ubisoft used its road map and updates from The Division as a necessary blueprint for its sequel.

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 takes place in the USA's national capital, Washington, DC which is in a bit of a mess with rebel gangs roaming the streets of the now dilapidated city.

The Division 2 takes a step forward on the original in just about every area.

The Division 2 came out a while ago and has certainly caught the interest of gamers who love third-person shooters due to its excellent gunplay, decent story missions, superb graphics and much more. If you are interested in knowing more about the game, why not check out our previous interview with the game’s senior game designer first before proceeding to the review.

Our Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 review has been a long time coming (struggling through Sekiro may have had some impact in that), but with a game this absolutely massive and filled with things to do, there’s a lot to take in and analyze. One of the original concepts for The Division was essentially “Diablo, but as a third-person military shooter.” It was an interesting blend of the loot-based RPGs we’d been playing for years with a non-traditional setting and gameplay. What The Division 2 does well, it does exceptionally well. After all, there was the entire first game’s worth...

With an incredibly robust feature set and massive swaths of content ready for the launch window, as well as an extensive roadmap on the horizon, The Division 2 raises the bar for how a sequel should launch. Only a handful of minor bugs and hiccups remain, but none of them hold this back from being the best team-based shooter we’ve played in a very long time. Massive Entertainment has a massive hit on their hands, and we can’t wait to see where it goes next.

The Division 2 does some things great, a lot of things good, and a few things bad, but with the team over at Massive Entertainment having proven their transparency and that they are on top of issues, I can tell that the game will only get better as it ages.

With a stronger endgame and a solid loot treadmill, The Division 2 preaches to the choir, fully uninterested in converting those who find the series unpleasant to play for one reason or another.

An ultimately conservative though meaningful improvement upon the previous Division title in every way, Tom Clancy's The Division 2 stands as a sterling third-person loot shooter experience that is best enjoyed with friends and is one which plays host to an evocative setting that lingers in the memory.

The Division 2 is basically a new map for the first game and a lot of changes "under the hood" that only veterans of the series will notice. But The Division 2 is also, and above all, a very engaging and atmospheric exploration of a ghost city.

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is good overall with some shortcomings. The story seems as though they could have gone much deeper and made it into a complex political sci-fi opus, but instead has just enough of a plot to explain what is happening. Getting through the main campaign to unlock the end game can get to be grindfest, but things can get interesting when the Black Turk faction does invade. It really depends on what the player is looking to get out of this game. Some who want a deeply-engaging story for a memorable solo gaming experience may feel...

A great game with fantastic world building and gameplay, The Division 2’s most egregious issues can easily be fixed during its lifetime.

Tom Clancy’s The Division was a successful foray into the looter shooter genre when it first launched three years ago. It was not without its problems, presenting a strong campaign that was held back by its bullet-sponge enemies and an endgame that took some serious tweaking for it to be truly memorable. As such, the absolute best version of the original wasn’t available until several months after launch, where it had gone through relevant quality of life changes and strong DLC additions ...

That said, it's nice to see another iterative sequel from Ubisoft take things to the next level. In a shared-world space that includes games like Destiny and now Anthem, The Division 2 carves a lane for itself. It enhances mostly everything about the first game and plainly offers more of it. The game fixes the Dead Zone content to make its modes actually enjoyable without its forced cursed loot, offers a unique and incredible environment to explore in Washington D.C. and it mostly just ...
